Benediction at Obama 's inauguration, Rev. Joseph Lowery: 'Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around... when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right. That all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen. Say Amen'...
Nice start.

If this was the actual prayer...wow, just, wow. Thank you Obama's Preacher for ****ting on the concept that we just came a long way in this country having a black man elected to President to then get your ignorant ass up there basically going "white people suck"

It is really time in this country for blacks to rise up and say enough of the "welfare" mentality. It is time to rise above the mediocrity of affirmative action and show we can make it on our own two feet just like everyone else, on a level playing field be it school or the work place.

Until we can let go of the "white man holding me down" syndrome, it will never happen.

Rev. Joseph Lowery: Thanks for nothing.

Blacks aren't incapable as they've been told. They just have to get out from under the Jackson/Sharpton mentality.

Well said, Black Dog.

Bill Cosby was chastised for saying something quite similar a few years back, but I think deep down, black American communities know that there must be change.

"that yellow can do what is mellow"

That was the gem.

What you just posted is exactly what Malcolm X preached.

Actually he said when "when black will not be asked to give back" not "get in back"

Anyone NOT a fool is quite certain that this is a BALD FACED LIE, since the sentence doesn't make any sense the way the spin meisters and the "damage control" artists are trying to re-write it.

Do you people not see damage control and instant historical revision when its right in front of you ???

It starts already. We had 8 years of relentless and silly Bush bashing, now we'll have 4-8 years of relentless and silly Obama bashing. It would be nice if partisans had something better to do with their time.

Oh, well. In the words of Truth Detector, carry on.

Eh, it's not so bad. I know I'll be able to keep in touch with what the Obama administration is up to minute-to-minute, because anytime the man says or does anything someone will soon after be telling me about how terrible and socialist it is.

There are some people who accost me so often with anecdotes of Obama's deviltry I wonder what it would take for them to get sick of talking about the man. I understand that there is a large section of the populace so infatuated with him as to view him as a messiah, but I can't hear those people over the bashee-like wail of those who must constantly inform me about how silly it is for someone to be so obsessed with him.

That being off my chest: What Lowery said back there was pretty crappy indeed.

Yeah I saw this speech. I heard that last part and I looked at my roomies and were like "that was actually pretty ****ing insulting to me as a whit person." I'm not racist, I do not support racism by any person of any color. And what this "preacher" preached was quite offensive and I was surprised that everyone still cheered him on afterwards. You cannot just assume that "white people don't do what's right." That is very ****ing rude.

Both the pointless Obama bashers and the pointless Obama cheerleaders annoy me, equally...similar to the rabid Bu****es, and the rabid anti-Bu****es. I'm not sure what either of these groups are trying to prove. I have a few thoughts, but they are, mostly, not nice. :2razz:

Regardless, I do agree with you on one point; I'll always know, good or bad what Obama is doing or has done.

I'm in a locale that provides me with much greater access to one than the other. I'm sure if I was in New England it would the other group grumpying up my day all time. On the internet I guess it's roughly equivalent. ;)

That was my favourite part. When I was listening to that, I just started thinking that the guy had had some unrelenting urge to rhyme and didn't care what exactly the words coming out of his mouth meant, as long as it rhymed. Meh, it wasn't as bad as some make it out to be... I think it was just weird and ph41l3d.
