The Biblical date of creation looks to be somewhere around 5500bc and 4000 bc
Which means the Bible dates creation approximately 6000 years ago.

Measurements made by NASA's WMAP spacecraft have shown that the universe is 13.77 billion years plus or minus 0.059. The age was further refined by ESA's Planck spacecraft to be 13.8 billion years old.

That's quite a discrepancy.
Would an of the more advanced theologians here care to explain this?

As it was in the beginning, so it is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

James 1:22
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

The entire cosmology of Genesis has been so thoroughly eviscerated by science, so many times, in so many ways, there are nothing but bloody entrails of it all over the ground for many decades now, most of which the vultures and jackals have already had their way with.

Anyone with even an ounce of intellectual honesty will admit that Genesis - as with much of the Old Testament - is a children's story, made up and told to appease a precocious child. It has about as much didactic value as The Wizard of Oz, or Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. That is where its biggest value can be found.

Even in this day and age, being comforted under the blanket of faith, is far to strong a draw for many to oppose.

Careful with Alice in Wonderland. Lewis Carroll (Charles Lutwidge Dodgson) was a renowned professor of mathematics at Oxford University. That book has more depth and breadth of meaning than we mere mortals may fathom.

Also..

As a Bible Profit, I know the answer. God's years are 2.3 million years in a "God-year". (There were a few of those Leap year things but God Smitted them)
So it's like measuring in divine years ( a.k.a. celestial or Deva years), where a divine year lasts for 360 solar (human) years. A chatur-yuga lasts for 4.32 million solar (12,000 divine) years with 1,728,000 years of Krita-yuga, 1,296,000 years of Treta-yuga, 864,000 years of Dvapara-yuga, and 432,000 years of Kali-yuga.

Fascinating.

As far as I'm concerned it was in february of 1953.

Whether you are religious or a physicist, there was no time before the Universe.

So it was created at the beginning.

Same story with people talking about God.
Why not, prove this invisible all powerful entity doesn't exist? Religion to a lot of people is a security blanket, they just put things in god's hands because they can't deal with life emotionally.

God can't actually "do" anything.

"Doing something" presupposes opposition. How can an omnipotent being encounter any opposition?

Credit to William S Burroughs
Now you have me scratching my head 😆

It would behoove humankind to spend more time in the here and now figuring out how to keep the earth habitable for humans than contemplating the long ago.

So then you're saying God created the dinosaurs?
And if so, is there a separate Bible for that creation?
Whether you are religious or a physicist, there was no time before the Universe.

So it was created at the beginning.

According to Scripture, God created “the heavens and the earth” fully formed and functioning in six days, about 6,000 years ago (around 4000 BC) yet science says dinosaurs existed here on earth long before God supposedly created it.
That's why id like the professional theologians here to explain this discrepancy.

Religious people can offer an explanation that doesn't make any sense to someone who doesn't have faith.

You aren't going to talk anyone out of their faith. There is no magic question that is going to make someone suddenly realize that their entire life has been a lie.

What is your ideal outcome?

There is 0 chance you will accept it.

i won't accept it either, but i don't expect them to care.

The authors of Genesis had no knowledge of dinosaurs, or carbon dating, or the CMB for that matter.

The dating discrepancy is a consequence of getting too far out in front of one's primitive skis.
