When A 14-Year-Old Chooses To Die Because Of Religion, Can Anyone Stop Him?

.how many others can say that?
Practically everyone with a religious belief. Everyone can twist, interpret, and rationalize whatever biical verse or religious source to suit their own narrative and Everyone with think they are correct while Everyone who differs is wrong. Look no further than your back and forth with Nipper in other threads for proof of that. There is nothing special about your religion or beliefs. Get over yourself!

If you have a DNR and the drs or nurse doesn't do CPR, that's assisted suicide?
I don't know if it's considered physician assisted suicide or passive euthanasia. When the legal establishment tries to make razor thin differences in definitions of a broader concept it only leads to confusion. What matters is that a DNR is a legal document that doctors are compelled to honor regardless of their personal feelings.

And it's up to you, with your smart brain that God gave you, to figure out what is truth and what is not...

Yes, like pregnant women. Why don't you?
well, when a kid is actually living and breathing and thinking and their parents decide to let them die when all it takes is a little blood to save their lives that's inhuman.

you have kids? would you have let them die if they needed blood? can you imagine parents letting their living and breathing kids die of cancer if there is a treatment?

No, but I don't stalk people and harass them over their religious choices either. Don't you disagree when religious people want to push their beliefs onto others?
You're belief is that they should not follow their religion, theirs is they should.

You have frequently said this. If it's up to the individual to find truth, why do you belong to an organized religion? People belonging to an organized religion where a main character (rabbi, priest, preacher etc.) is guiding a congregation and giving his/her interpretation of the bible (word of god) is not figuring out the truth. They are parsing someone else's opinion. Imo the only way for one to come to one's truth between oneself and one's god is to go it alone. Read the holy book of one's chosen religion, do the best one can to figure out the right path, and go for it. Asking for guidance from anyone other than one's god immediately taints the way to one's truth with the bias of another.

You don't think someone/anyone has determined the truth of God's Word before now? I sure do...if what a person believes is in harmony with God's Word, with no conflicts/contradictions, then it has to be the truth, does it not?

Dennis made this choice for himself...

We take God at His Word...our beliefs have no contradictions/conflicts with what God's Word says...how many others can say that?
Good for you.
That does not explain why JW seem to reject the use of blood transfusions and other Christian religions allow the use of blood.
They all use the Bible for God's words.

As far as your question. The answer is all Christian religions I know of make the same claim about taking God at His word.

The problem is it is humans interpreting His Word. How else can you explain JW, Lutherns, Baptists, Cathlics, etc. All use the same God's Word but come up with different takes.

Dennis made this choice for himself...
Was his decision based on an influence for his JW religious beliefs?

What if Dennis was raised in a home environment where the religion allowed blood transfusions? If that led to him having a transfusion it is still his choice.

stalk? they come here and post and are hypocritical.

okay, so if your hypothetical 14yo daughter hypotactically gets non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and you decide (when she has a good chance of beating it through treatment) to not let her be treated because of your church's interpretation of the Bible, what does that make you? a good parent? ****ing insane?

Dennis made this choice for himself...
based on how his parents raised him to believe.

hell, if Dennis was my kid i'd be doing everything possible to fight for his life and he wouldn't even be thinking of this bullshit.

Was his decision based on an influence for his JW religious beliefs?
No, it based on what the Bible says...

Can't get much plainer than..."abstain from blood"...

Who is this person you believe has figured out the truth of gods word? Is this the person you believe and do you follow the word of this person? How do you know this person's determination of god's truth is free or error? Abrahamic religions demand complete obedience to god's word. Harmony is not possible due to conflicts/contradictions within the bible which has been interpreted through thousands of years by millions of people belonging to different religions and sects within religions that do not share agreement about god's word. If god's truth as known, there would be one holy text, one interpretation, and one religion that all religious people on the planet believed and obeyed. Instead we have babel.

No, it based on what the Bible says..
No. It is based on what your religious leaders or yourself (human) interprets what the Bible is saying.
.

What chapter and verse?

Seems to me that the Bible talks about ingesting blood (eating). Transfusions are not the same as eating blood.

Anyone who is obedient to His Word...truly obedient...actions speak for themselves...

Abstain...look it up...

From the two minute video: ---> "Jehovah Witnesses believe "Christian denominations are apostate."

A very long article you will have to take the time to read for yourself if interested...if not, ignore this thread...does a 14 year old have the right to say what treatments he will accept and what treatments he will not? Can he be forced treatment he adamantly does not want?

That's too bad. A good example of the dangers of religious delusions to a person's mental health.

You're belief is that they should not follow their religion, theirs is they should.
In certain cases, that's correct. That's because religion is a pile of unevidenced delusions. That's an important difference.

Proving my point that members of organized religions are not on the paths to the truth of their gods' words and that the hubris of members of organized religions is their downfall.
