What would the Gop have said if they shot the balloon down over land and it killed someone?

We know what they would have said, that Biden had reacted rashly and should have waited until it was over the ocean, since the military says it blocked any communication between the balloon and China. I wonder what would have happened if the GOP were asked by Biden to point to the area where they should bring the balloon down over land as they know so much about it? The GOP is using this once again as a political stick to try and hit Biden to please their base, knowing in the end, Biden did what was best.

If Trump were President, the balloon would have been shot down as soon as it crossed entered US airspace in Alaska. (Assuming the military had notified him of the balloon.)

And the Dems would be crying about the fish that got killed.
 
Of course they would have bitched. The humorous thing would be the Democrats applauding the move

and that is your opinion. We have no way of knowing what President Trump would have done.

The more FPOTUS Trump posts and speaks the more I realize he is full of it.

Nonsense. Trump WAS President when previous balloons crossed over the US mainland.

When Trump WAS President his political appointees at the Pentagon were so incompetent that there was no chain of command by which previous incidents could have even been brought to Trump's attention.

What difference does what anyone says matter? Do the right thing. Biden fumbled this one. Admit that it could of been and should of been handled better that it was. It's not the end of the world. Learn from the mistakes and implement the changes we need to improve. The left is turning this into something bigger than it is with all the dumb excuses they are making.

I don't think that's quite right.

Traitor trump was compromised with China, he was not responsible in protecting the country, which directly led to not detecting the balloons, and his appointees did tend to be incompetent political loyalists.

Was incompetence at the Pentagon involved? Perhaps. But it wasn't about there not being a way to communicate it had they known.

They weren't discovered until a review of 'unknown objects' detected by the Biden administration, and they were kept secret to not let China know we had identified them.

Repubs would have said Biden irresponsibly risked American lives and has blood on his hands. Trump would have said Xi Jinping would never had dared send a balloon while I was president...

The partisan right would have responded with a stream of insults claiming Biden was an idiot.

The same way the partisan left would have responded if the event happened while Trump was president if Trump had allowed the spy balloon to traverse across the entire country before shooting it down.

According to the military, no balloon was ever detected. It's the Intel Community that says they detected it.

That leaves only two possibilities: The military is correct and there were no balloons or the Intel Community is correct that they hid the information from everyone...including the President.

You tell me which scenario you prefer: No balloons or a corrupt Intel Community.

They would continue to insist it was a "spy" satellite.

In any event they will do so anyway even though the US Navy has said it had "very limited" capabilities and let it be known they have been studying it and probing IT for intel! FYI - Norad has had it in their sites for more than a two weeks.

Such paranoia! It's not like anyone could rent a plane and fly over the same area..........and of course Montana holds so so so many vital American defense secrets!

It's a ****ing weather balloon!
