These two states are like one around here.
Between Mass and R.I. they have most everything anyone would want to do from some of the greatest golf courses to the famous Hall of fame Champions Cup to the International Tennis Hall of Fame,
WORSE POLITICANS anywhere, Championships matches, tall ships, best harbours, boat races, best Jet Sking, Nascar races, WORSE POLITICANS anywhere,Oldest and most beautiful mansions anywhere in the world, best shore lines, best Quahouging, Claming, OH so good tasting Lobsters and crabs, great sking, motor cycle offroading, WORSE POLITICANS anywhere, best looking mountains, best resorts, great Horse and Dog racing, Best universitys, best doctors, best malls, WORSE POLITICANS anywhere, best rain and snow, best schools, Best looking GIRLS, BEST beaches,
WELL, lets just say they have the best of everything and did I say that they have the MOST CORRUPT POLITICANS IN THE U.S.A.????

Ya, Ohio sucks. Other than Michigan, there is nowhere in the country that seems like a more miserable place. Forbes Magazine recently picked the "Top 10 Fastest Dying Cities in America"...and 4 of them were in Ohio, including my city.

I can't wait to move out of this ****hole.

Nah. The most corrupt politicians in America tend to be from 1) Louisiana, 2) Alaska, 3) New Jersey, 4) Ohio, 5) Illinois.

True. Dayton, Canton, Cleveland, and Youngstown.
Weird.
And the rest are in Michigan, with one each in upstate New York, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania.
I wonder why. Industry and manufacturing moving overseas, perhaps?

Interesting; none of the top dying cities are in the south, or the west.
Perhaps it's this enormous influx of illegal immigrants keeping us viable and competitive, or at least afloat. People should stop complaining about them, lest we end up in the same straits as the North.

Once again, Delaware is getting no love.

Even though I am from Wisconsin, I would not put it on any top list. Yes, the housing is affordable, but the property taxes are completely ridiculous. Madison is a gem. I'm moving soon, and I am undecided between NC and SC. I've lived in both places, and enjoyed both of them. Probably leaning towards NC though.

Illinois has the worst politicians by far and it doesn't matter which side you are on.

We got the Daley Political Machine, Blagoevich and Jesse Jackson Jr.

Now toss in a healthy does of Ex Gov. Ryan and you've got a pretty big recipe for corruption.

As far as worst politicians without necessarily hitting corruption....

For those who cannot stand Democrats, don't forget, both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama can claim that they are from Chicago.

For those who cannot stand Republicans, Illinois also spawned Reagan.

[*]North Carolina has the friendliest people (in my experience)

I think it is generally accepted that Mississippi has the "Friendliest People".
Even among Southern States, (all of which are known to be friendlier in general), Mississippi is often labeled as the most friendly.

yeah but there isn't really any other part of Massachusetts, is there.

I guess Provincetown is ok. Actually all of Cape Cod is pretty nice.

Amherst seems like a very cool college town...but it's been years since I've been there so I might be wrong.

California is huge and seems to have various landscapes (from desert to mountains in Yosemite)

New York must be impressive too

yeah and I could tell everyone Philly looks like this:

And in some places it does.

But it actually looks like this:

Don't be a liar. I've been to California. I know there's trees and lovely shores and crap, but getting to ANY of them involves the most terrifying highway network I've ever seen in my life.

Bleh. Even that "good" picture of Philly makes it look like it sucks.

new coup for you said:

Only if you've never been outside of Los Angeles / Orange County / San Diego.

That, and once you get anywhere worth going it's crowded.

I've lived in Oakland for a few months...but to be fair, I haven't spent much time in Northern California.

And if you think the Divine Lorraine isn't as cool that little Epcot Europe alley you posted I can't help you....

This is So Cal in three pictures...
