What should we do about Detroit?

No, we don't, but most people who are otherwise employable have already left Detroit so we're not paying for more people than we had been when Detroit was a thriving metropolis.

No, I do not like rewarding bad decisions and behaviors because you will get more of it.

Such as electing any of the war mongering GOP Presidential contenders like Rubio.

Who is the one supporting modest trade tariffs and fair trade as to insure we are not priced out or blocked in foreign markets?

Your GOP has always been for unfair trade deals since Reagan and the first one with Israel.
That's why Perot ran against Bush-43 and kept him from office .

Who wants to get rid of of a convoluted and biased tax system with one that levels the playing field and doe not punish people for bring back money into America (Why the Hell would anyone punish anyone bring money made overseas back into America?)

Not the GOP House--they had their chance last year and refused to take up their own Tax Rewrite bill.

Who is the one who supports states rights and reducing Federal Power?

None of us want another civil war based on that premise--do you?

Who supports ending then NSA?

Not the leader of the Senate, McConnell.
He wants the Patriot Act passed without changing it.

Who is the one who supports getting out of the middle east and stopping wasting countless lives and trillions on worthless wars?

Not the GOP--the party you support--you have a short memory of what YER party did to America and the VA last decade.

supports ending the war on drugs?

YER party started and continues the war on drugs.

Well who gave them tax cuts to leave?
What nation on Earth pay its industries to leave?

Which President signed the first trade pact give-away?
Signed the first amnesty?
Was the first to have 400+ billion deficits--dwarfing those in today's dollars?
Was guilty of high crimes and felonies far worse than Nixon but was let off the hook by Tip O'Neill ?

Rubio burned his bridge when supporting Amnesty.

Really? Who helped pass and signed NAFTA?

Which party controlled Congress and put such bills on his desk to begin with?

Not the GOP House--they had their chance last year and refused to take up their own Tax Rewrite bill.

That was a nothing more then a tax increase.

None of us want another civil war based on that premise--do you?

Why do you assume we will have another civil war?

Their wont be one, just give states our powers and rights back.

Dont like it? Fine, just allow us to leave.

Not the leader of the Senate, McConnell.

He is a Neo Con..They are worse then leftists.

Not the GOP--the party you support--you have a short memory of what YER party did to America and the VA last decade.

Really? What part of of Rino/War hawks do you not understand.

YER party started and continues the war on drugs.

Really? Have you seen who supports ending?

Give you a hint overwhelming Red.

Refurbish it into an auto capital of the world again.
That isn't going to happen.

Germany rebuilt after ww2 and Japan rebuilt from the ashes of 2 nuclear bombs. Detroit needs to be rebuilt.
1. Not the same.
2. Rebuilt with who's assistance?

Shipping jobs overseas?.....abandoning their country in order to make ever more money?
Ghastly business......downright un-American I'd say.
Whether you like it or not, the movement of jobs to a lower cost base is inevitable.

Making a profit and providing demanded low costs to consumers is an American thing.

If we do not like maybe we should cut regulations, have a flat tax making America a cheaper place to do business.

That still isn't going to prevent jobs from moving. Nor should they be prevented.

No, I do not like rewarding bad decisions and behaviors because you will get more of it.

Really? How do I advocate for that?

you said that not letting people starve in the streets was part of the problem.

i support fair trade, even if it includes tariffs.

Who is the one that wants to remove mindless regulations that do nothing but keep out the small businesses for them market place and stifle innovation?

such as? might agree with you on some.

i support a progressive income tax system and taxing all income as income above a negotiated cap. on the flipside, i also support reducing the corporate rate to be more competitive with Europe, and taxing individuals instead.

Who supports ending then NSA?

i'm for a whole lot more oversight and restrictions on the agency, that's for sure.

Who is the one who supports getting out of the middle east and stopping wasting countless lives and trillions on worthless wars?

we should get out of the Middle East almost entirely. stabilizing the region is the responsibility of regional hegemons.

Who supports ending the war on drugs?

that's another complex discussion, but i'm mostly onboard.

Who supports restoring the dollar by backing it with Sliver and Gold?

That is what I support..

there's no putting that genie back in the bottle.

now, back to the displaced workers : we can pay them to work, or we can pay them not to. i'd prefer to pay them to work.

you said that not letting people starve in the streets was part of the problem.

If they do not feel the pain of their failures how are they to learn?

i support fair trade, even if it includes tariffs.

Great.

Well reigning lawsuit abuse, the EPA, IRS, would be a great start.

5% tax on spending would do just fine as well as slashing the size of the Federal Government. 70% of which is beyond useless.

i'm for a whole lot more oversight and restrictions on the agency, that's for sure.

Why? Why not just rid of this tyrannical agency it has done nothing to stop any attacks and violates us everyday.

we should get out of the Middle East almost entirely. stabilizing the region is the responsibility of regional hegemons.

Agreeed, why waste time, blood and treasure on that region.

that's another complex discussion, but i'm mostly onboard.

Its not really, just end it.
$180 billion a year and a police state to boot...What is the gain? Nothing, what is the Lost? Everything.

there's no putting that genie back in the bottle.

We have to, fiat currency never last because the it printers itself out of value, it always happens.

now, back to the displaced workers : we can pay them to work, or we can pay them not to. i'd prefer to pay them to work.

Pay them less not to work then, might be an incentive.

I was going to go with a RoboCop reference myself, but since there's no way you could convince a company to buy the hellhole, the Aliens route works.

You know in some areas of LV426 you can buy a house for a $1.

So, import Chinese workers then?

Get the burger tossers to do more productive work in assembly line and earn more than the minimum wage after some training.

If they do not feel the pain of their failures how are they to learn?

Blacks and whites as a whole have failed to live up to this. Blacks seek alms from the Man rather than spurning interference. Many whites still seem to think that they have a Burden. The all black government leadership of Detroit is still waiting for a bailout.

It's pathetic when a major city relies on college students 40 miles away to volunteer to help the huge mass of destitute residents, and make recommendations to overcome the innumerable challenges. The top response btw was "Make it like chicago."

Detroit isn't worth salvaging. I'm all for turning everything beyond the airport into farmland.

You realize that GM has been outsourcing jobs to mexico since the 1980s? These companies have no reason to rebuild the city

Are you in favour of re-building the city? If no, why?
