Lots and lots more people died than just the rich. If you do not see that point you really missed something really important. Anyone with a brain and knowledge of history should know when certain conditions happen and revolt and revolution come pass lots and lots and lots of really ****ty stuff happens to lots and lots and lots of people - both good people and bad people and indifferent people. Both to people who helped make it happen and to those who were just shuffling along minding their own sweet business. Thats the nature of the beast.

And that is just one reason why certain people quoting platitudes about winners and losers and the virtues of capitalism and social darwinism and all the rest are playing a very very very dangerous game. And when its played with my country and the American people that I love - I get very very very angry about that sort of ostrich mentality that borders on criminal indifference if not helping to cause the actual horror with can follow.
