I guess the simple act of turning around is just too much for some people to do. I know our nation has an epidemic of obesity, but if they were that out of shape that they can't simply turn around 180 degrees so they don't see the awful act of prayer, maybe prayer isn't the problem.
Of course when football players were kneeling that was too much to ask

I'm in agreement with that too. If football players are kneeling on TV, its even easier. There are these buttons on TV remotes that change to something else on TV. Remotes aren't that heavy, and all it takes is a very small movement of the thumb to change that channel, and again to change it back. It is so damn easy.

But if my kid is on the football team I don't want him coerced to pray

So you agree it's obvious coercion

Thanks
Nope. Those words did not come out of my mouth or on this thread. You provides no evidence of coercion. Just because someone is in a higher position does not mean automatic coercion.

Hey thanks man. I agree it's obvious coercion

Duh. Lol

It's coercion. My opinion is based on the evidence
No, your opinion is based on a coach kneeling in the middle of the field and players going with him. That is not evidence. If you see me kneeling with Colin Kapernec, that does not mean he coerced me.

Would a reasonable child feel that praying with the coach would make it more likely he would play?

Duh
No, not if the child's parents taught him correctly. I went to a Catholic school and played basketball. Not once did I pray with the coach, nor did I feel like my playing time changed because of it.

You never played football. Some of these kids are fighting for a scholarship. Tens of thousands of dollars are on the line

Please

Yes I did play football. It does not matter the sport. Our coaches wanted to win. Prayer had nothing to do with me hitting a 3 pointer or getting an interception. My playing time had nothing to do with whether I prayed or not.

I coached myself before the parents started interfering. My job was to teach the kids the game and win games. I could have cared less if the kids worshipped a turkey club sandwich.

You were not up for a D1 scholarship. You have no idea what kids will do to please their coach

Come on man

How do you know if I was or not? More assumptions?

I was not up for one, but we WERE up for a state championship. We didn't play the game to please a coach. We played the game because we loved to, and we wanted to win.

Ok bud. I made my very obvious case

So, let me see if I understand you. Your case is that because the coach decided on his own to pray on the field after the game, that equales coercion? Bud?

On the 50 yard line. Not in private. And he invited kids to join him

Kids would walk thru the gates of hell if invited by the coach on a football team
