For those of you who use reddit, I am interested in seeing what side of the political isle reddit leans towards.
I personally believe that reddit leans on the right side of the political spectrum, with a very strong libertarian streak. I say this because reddit seems to harbor many right wing beliefs such as a staunch support for gun ownership, disdain of college political activism and protest, a blind support of Israel, and in some cases, a very ugly attitude of hate towards civil rights groups like the Black Lives Matter movement and distrust towards college rape victims.
However, reddit still gets some things right, such as opposing most foreign wars, support LGBTQ rights, and having a health distrust of religious fundamentalism. For every hate subreddit such as r/tia, there are also one or two subreddits such as r/****redditsays and r/circlebroke which call out the rampant racism and misogyny they see in other redditors.
I am interested to see if any fellow redditors on this forum agree with my assessments of reddit, or whether you see things a different way.
It all depends on which subreddit you're looking at. A lot of the ones I've seen have been heavily liberal, but there are some across the board.
Let's say r/politics, r/news, and a "local" subreddit such as r/newyork or r/saintlouis
Their administration doesn't but whatever,For those of you who use reddit, I am interested in seeing what side of the political isle reddit leans towards.

pretty subjective but ok,with a very strong libertarian streak.
Well, many of them are gamers and very few have any fear of guns, and probably own some themselves.I say this because reddit seems to harbor many right wing beliefs such as a staunch support for gun ownership,
Everyone hates that. SJW's are everything that's wrong with universities.disdain of college political activism and protest,
I wish but noa blind support of Israel,
See above: Campus activism and Social Justice warriors. They don't want "civil rights", they just want to spread their hate.and in some cases, a very ugly attitude of hate towards civil rights groups like the Black Lives Matter movement and distrust towards college rape victims.

Reddit is too diverse to call it one way or another. It's a public site and well, anyone with an asshole can give their opinions.I am interested to see if any fellow redditors on this forum agree with my assessments of reddit, or whether you see things a different way.
I think I signed up for reddit several years ago to participate in one thread. I wouldn't call myself a "redditor" in that regard, although I frequently peruse their forums.
I don't think Reddit the website has an official political lean, although I agree that it seems that many of the people drawn to post on reddit tend to be more libertarian in outlook, I don't see many social conservatives on Reddit either. They seem to be the "south park liberal" type is the most prevelant viewpoint.
What exactly is a "South Park liberal"? The south park guys are right leaning libertarians
You would think that as much as the Right likes censorship of media, the South Park creators would hold conservatism in an even lesser light than they do.

They are?
I don't think of 'right leaning' when I watch South Park...not at all.
Considering it was the lefties at Viacom who capitulated to terrorists and censored south park showing muhammad, they are much more pissed at the left
