I am just curious why these exist in the first place. We're living in a society where sex and gender no longer mean the same thing. We're living in a society where passports can have an "X" marking to indicate "intersex". Perhaps people can explain to me the purpose now. Is it there in case someone gets hurt and the medical doctors need to know the person's genitals? Is it there for cultural identifier reasons?
It seems like everything is biologically based. It allows authorities to identify the person's physical characteristics.Culture identifier reasons? No.
Identification factors which assist law enforcement in identifying the person presenting the license. Just like having hair, eyes, height, age, etc.

If the person is transitioning, then shouldn't the person simply get their photo taken again? People grow beards and change their hairstyle or even hair color. All of these impact how the person looks.Quick visual identification whether the person in front of you is the person described in the license. It’s why things like eye and hair color are also included.
However, if the license says male and the person is transitioning, it may cause confusion, so it makes sense to have an attribute for that situation.
They should do that tooIf the person is transitioning, then shouldn't the person simply get their photo taken again? People grow beards and change their hairstyle or even hair color. All of these impact how the person looks.
Are you referencing the growing Latino population? The wokesters have gone mad.
And there is nothing that can be done at the present time.
But, IMHO, the "X" passport will be abolished when the nation in a few decades has a new population profile, for the new majority will be very "conservative" when it comes to social issues.

Maybe a DNA database entry number should be added, and a Federal government maintained DNA database of ALL citizens begun at birth.
Done at birth, it wouldn't matter much how long it took. That wouldnt be very efficient since dna sampling takes a long time. However, a DNA database already does exist and is used to prove identity in certain situations.

The Federal DNA Database Unit (FDDU) aids investigations through hit confirmations against individuals whose profiles are in the National DNA Index System (NDIS).www.fbi.gov

Why would they want to?Of course it would. Are they going to do dna testing at the voting box? The liquor store?
Thanks for admitting that conservatives plan to cancel the existence of intersex people. The nation is moving to be less conservative. Trump won with 1/3 of the vote. The rights of any minority are not determined by popular vote. That is why the Bill of Rights exists to protect minorities from the tyranny of the majority. You should have learned that in high school. The wokesters have gone mad.

Nearly 70 percent of Americans support nondiscrimination protections for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people,
Why would they want to?
A DNA database, and a unique 6 or 7 digit base 32 number which could be used on any/all government records/licenses beginning with your birth certificate, or immigration to the U.S.You tell me, you suggested DNA on your license.

Visual ID.
What does “X” tell you visually?Almost all people are quickly identifiable as male or female, so it makes for quicker verification that the person identifying themselves is the person the credential says it is.
In this case, probably nothingWhat does “X” tell you visually?
And if someone is now presenting as a woman or transgender, having an M on the driver's license may cause law enforcement to make a mistake, eh?Culture identifier reasons? No.

It is about time we have more than 2 options. Perhaps their options should expand even more:And if someone is now presenting as a woman or transgender, having an M on the driver's license may cause law enforcement to make a mistake, eh?
