Ran a little off topic, but I'll try to bring it back (I know much of the diversion was my fault).
There has been much talk, in the US, about the democrats' plan, or lack thereof. If it were only TRUE it would be a GOOD THING. the reality is, the democrats and republicans alike all imagine numerous perfect plans. First off, it should tell you, the plans are not perfect, because if they were, everyone would agree with them. Also, the track record of the recent plans has mostly been about fixing previous plans anyway (as Lew Rockwell points out).
Libertarians honestly and rightly believe, there is no real need for a master, or national plan. The only plans really needed are the plans each person make everyday. The broadness and depth of ALL the little plans each humble human being comes up with offers more to the world than the best the governments masters best minds could ever envision. In the US, nearly 300 million (with the exceptions of the very young or infirm) plan EVERY SINGLE DAY on how they are going to interact the other 300,000,000 poeple int he country, and around the world. Some people, even go the whole day, without a single real plan in mind, gasp. The Absolute, positively, undenounceable, fictional Best goevrnment does for these people, for all people, is provide standard conduct (behavior) conduits. Simple pathways not to plan on. Don't Plan on Killing people (and don't kill them even if you didn't plan on it). Don't plan on stealing, raping, beating or generally hurting other people, as it interferes with their ability to plan their own little day (and don't do those things even if you did not plan on it.) Better yet, it's a good plan, NOT to do those things today. I plan on NOT killing anyone, beating or generally hurting another person, because when I do, it royally f's up my day's plan.
The Best governmnent CAN do, is stop f***ing with everyone's daily plans.
"The government that govern's best Govern least. I would take that to it's end and say the Governmnet that governs best, governs not at all" -Henry David Thoreau

"Freedom is not a public-policy option and it is not a plan. It is the end of politics itself. It is time for us to take that next step and call for precisely that. If we believe what Jefferson believed, and I think we should, it is time to speak less like managers of bureaucracies, and more like Moses."
