What if 100 NRA members were killed?[W:1249]

Re: What if 100 NRA members were killed?

Actually,, I think under the law.. if you can provide evidence that you are a US citizen.. they cannot deny you entry. At least if you are traveling by land.

So you can restrict my rights by air?

Re: What if 100 NRA members were killed?

Well.. actually, I do not believe you would be allowed to board a plane in other countries without a passport (policy of these other countries) .

On land.. when you get to the US border.. you are met by US border officials.. who if they determine your citizenship.. they have to let you enter.. (after admonishing your probably strongly to get a passport)

Ummm its the policy of other countries that you cannot board a plane without a passport.

I believe its part of the treaty we have with other countries when it comes to travel.

That is simply untrue.

Re: What if 100 NRA members were killed?

Believe what you want to believe.

Well I certainly will believe the truth which is that in other areas we make laws that largely impact only the law abiding and gun laws should be no different

I think you are missing a key factor here...you seem to desire laws that would ONLY impact law abiding citizens. They would serve no useful function. That would be a waste of taxpayer money. Why should we support that idea? When anything you come up with could be done under current law.

its pretty obvious that most of those who support additional laws (given that everything evil one can do with a firearms already banned as is possession of firearms by those who have been adjudicated dangerous to others or in some cases (those under indictment) are seen as probably dangerous to others) want laws that only increase the harassment of legal gun owners

Re: What if 100 NRA members were killed?

Sandy Hook proved we will do nothing about guns. As if we needed proof after all the previous incidents of murder and carnage. murders

The club in Florida proved it again when 49 were murdered.

And nothing will come of this Vegas slaughter today. Nothing. Not one damn thing will change.

The NRA owns Congress and the Republicans are there compliant bitch more than willing to do their bidding and ask for more.

So what would happen if some killer slaughtered 100 NRA members at one of their conventions?

Would that change anything?

I thought Big Oil, Big Pharma, Big Coal, the AARP, labor unions and Big Auto owned Congress?

That would depend on the issue. We can agree the strength of those groups you name regarding certain issues, but there is not any doubt that when it comes to gun issues before Congress, the NRA rules the roost.

Having the 2nd Amendment makes it a whole lot easier.

Re: What if 100 NRA members were killed?

Having the 2nd Amendment makes it a whole lot easier.

Having Congress buy the NRA misinterpretation of the Second Amendment makes it a whole lot easier. As former Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court Warren Burger said ..."one of the greatest pieces of fraud on the American public by special interest groups" that he had ever seen in his lifetime.

So in your mind the misinterpretation is that the second amendment is meant to arm the citizenry? The private citizen. The individual?

He also voted with the majority in Roe, a case that Justice Ginsburg disagreed with.

A passport only impacts legal citizens

Re: What if 100 NRA members were killed?

A passport only impacts legal citizens

And? It serves a valid function...proof of citizenship to the United States when traveling abroad. You don't need one in the United States. A passport is not required by law. So why do you continue to bring this up? It doesn't strengthen your position.

Can you give me one valid function of registration that cannot already be done by another process?

NO. The misinterpretation is that the Second Amendment protects guns.

Re: What if 100 NRA members were killed?

What does that have to do with his observation about the NRA?

Re: What if 100 NRA members were killed?

Credibility and judgement.

How so? I doubt if there is any justice who served on the Court that you could not go and find one decision that you might disagree with. How does that human quality impact his credibility and judgment?

Hmmm.. please give an example.

And second.. why do you contend that? If a law is useless in preventing or decreasing crime, or otherwise useless.. why should it be a law... and why would you use it as a an example of good law making?

Re: What if 100 NRA members were killed?

NO. The misinterpretation is that the Second Amendment protects guns.

Hmmm that would mean that according to your premise..the true meaning of the second amendment is that guns can be banned completely from civilian use...

Re: What if 100 NRA members were killed?

So people without legal passports because they are not legal citizens are not being stopped at the border.? You mean that if a Canadian wants to get into the US.. they don't have to have a passport or visa to allow them to get into the US? Only legal citizens have to show proof of citizenship to get into the us... but those that are not legal citizens can walk right in?

I thought you stated that you had to have a passport to cross the border? You aren;t making sense.

Why do I care about Canadians? Americans must have a passport to enter their own country. That is one of a hundred examples of a right that requires you prove you are eligible for that right. You lost this one
