My grandparents lived under Stalin, so you're talking to the wrong person. Stalin didn't have a Final Solution. My grandmother's first husband also died in one of those concentration camps. He wasn't there because of his race. Stalin and Hitler are not exactly the same. If you actually read history, you see the difference in not only the people, but also their political philosophies.

If you were a German, you lived a relatively good, privileged life in the Third Reich despite seeing your Jewish neighbors disappear. Political dissents, communists, and others also disappeared, but they are all groups the German people feared anyway. The German people weren't brutalized by Hitler. They were told they are favored people and a master race. That difference is what you fail to see and admit.

I have studied the USSR in mostly American universities since. My professors said that it wasn't until the USSR collapsed that the papers were released to actually study the USSR. Prior to that, nobody really, completely understood the USSR, or even Communism, and how it worked.

My grandparents were fed propaganda, but they didn't like Stalin. As I said, my grandmother's first husband died, and his crime was opposing Stalin. They did things covertly... even prayed... but living under Stalin and living under Hitler were not the same. Stalin could brutalize almost anybody, and I know a lot about this. They believed everybody had to struggle for Communism, whereas Hitler and his supporters believe the Jews were their misfortune and holding them back. They thought the German people unfairly struggled against he Jews, and Hitler would save them from that.

You just want to boil this all down to violence and brutality, but you cannot realistically admit that racism was central to Hitler's ideology and how the German people saw their place in history. You also cannot admit that neo nazis and antifa are different in that one group supports racism, believes in white genocide, and pretty much appears to support violent genocide towards other groups.

I doubt that Stalin felt much different about Jews than Hitler did.

BUT: Hitler was the enemy, and for 70+ years we have seen thousands of documentaries about the holocaust. It is ingrained in our minds.
