Yep, what about the Chinese? :lol:They are stingy hard bargainers. A cunning race if ya ask me...
the word nigger is racist, period. not just insensitive, but racist.
That's why they're known as "the Jews of the East." Funny thing is, every time I've heard this expression used, it was both intended and taken as flattering.
Makes them no less derogatory, but again they don't have the same sting.
I mean "red neck" "chink" "wet back" etc for the other races are just laughable.
I'm only saying that contributing epithets or sayings that paint an entire race/ethnicity in a negative light (and let's be honest, the sentiment behind "Jewing me down" ain't positive) to the English language does nothing good for that race/ethnicity.
Only because you're not a "redneck," a "chink," ,a "wetback," etc., etc., etc. Just because you don't find offense at a particular racial slur, it's still a racial slur and unacceptable. If not to you, certainly to others.
You seem to be saying that your offense taken from a racial slur ("nigger") is more valid than, say, a Hispanic's offense taken from a racial slur ("wetback").
Is your offense somehow more important or valid than theirs?
Really?
It does nothing good for ANYONE.

I don't know, maybe it's because I am black. No racial term has the same sting as "nigger." I mean you can call me an "Alabama porch monkey" "shine" etc, and nothing, but all of a sudden throw in "nigger" and I want to kill someone.

Does it have so much of a stigma attached to it, that we will never get over it?
It seems to have even more of a stigma than say calling someone a Nazi or Fascist.
This topic reminds me of what my gf's dad (who is jewish) said after the whole Spitzer scandal came to light.
"4,000 for that shika??!! What kind a Jew is he? She is at best $1,200"
shikse
A non-Jewish woman, all too often used derogatorily. It has the connotation of “young and beautiful,” so referring to a man’s Gentile wife or girlfriend as a shiksa implies that his primary attraction was her good looks. She is possibly blonde. A shagetz or sheygets means a non-Jewish boy, and has the connotation of a someone who is unruly, even violent.
:naughtyA buddy of mine used this the other day. He's an electrician and owns his own business. He was talking about how some customers try to jew him down on prices, and other aggravations of running his business. There aren't many Jews around here, so I know he was using this phrase as an idiom, not because he's a bigot. Plus, I know he's not a bigot.
What do you think of the phrase?
Did you even bother to read what I was asking or what I said?
I mean "red neck" "chink" "wet back" etc for the other races are just laughable.
Why would your insult be any more painful than a similar insult would be to another unfairly maligned minority?
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess it's because he's black. For him, it's personal.
And it's not a personal insult when someone of Asian extraction is called "chink?"
Really?

I agree. I wouldn't say it around a group of strangers, because I wouldn't want to offend anyone. But my roommate and I say **** like that (and worse) all the time to each other, just because it's funny.
My friends and I actively reference, "bring jewed" in terms of money and power. We also reference, "Motza balled" if you're manhood has come into question by a Jew
Except we aren't talking about racism, we're talking about racial jokes and stereotypes.
How is it being a jerk? I don't care if my roommate uses some racial slur at me, and I'll probably find it funny. Likewise for him.
C'mon, tell me this isn't hilarious:

It's a term used to vent frustration, not express hatred of a group.
Jews like bargains, so if he's frustrated with everyone trying to get a bargain on his prices, the term actually seems quite appropriate outside a professional setting.
It's not something I would say while bidding for the job, though.
