What do you call it?

I call it political corruption.

I CALL IT paranoia and conservatives being unhappy that they are no longer the majority so therefore everything must be blamed.

No one ever went broke overestimating the stupidity of the American public, H.L. Mencken called it.

I call it following recipes from The Fascist Handbook.

Yes, but I was hoping for something a little more precise. Part of the reason such tactics are so effective is there is no concept for it. If such a technique had a name it would be more difficult to pull off.... or perhaps you were speaking of the article itself and not my question?!?

I call it Sour Grapes.

Tulsi ended up nothing more than an also-ran and now seems to be chummy with Fox? Meh. She's selling out just like all the new school pols. It's not about achieving shit. It's about getting your face on TV and saying crazy shit. As far as I'm concerned she can go on tour with MTG, Drunky McDriverson, and Mini Me (that Cawthorn twat) and just rile up the low IQ, slack jawed, inbred crowd.

This technique is used so much since 2016 it needs a name!

Did anyone see this article:

Basically, it is a technique right out of the old Trump/FOX news playbook. Fart in a room then point at someone you don't like and shout, "Who Farted!"

Im confused. Are you saying Tulsi is using this technique is bad or the technique shes describing is bad? Whats this got to do with media bias?

Essentially what they do is create a dictatorship where those who are outsiders, those who put country first, those who are not afraid to challenge the establishment and those who don’t toe the line, they do all they can to silence and censor and eliminate these outsiders who they deem pose a threat to their power.

I copied your thread title question and I answered it. That was the only question I saw.

Anyway, even if you "name the concept", that won't make it any harder to pull off...especially when, in this case, the political corruption is so pervasive. It goes on at all levels...all branches...of our government. And nobody will do anything about it, which is the reason it's so effective.

I'm saying that the same words in the Fox article used to describe Tulsi (and I don't know if it is a fair argument or not - I suspect it has nothing to do with the truth) are exactly the words people VALIDLY use to describe Trump's behavior and that articles like this have been a common way FOX and Trump have tried to put up a smoke screen to confuse the public... and the worst part is IT WORKS! A lot of people don't even see or understand for FOX and Trump are doing (others see it and think it is funny, harmless and effective politics) ... it needs a name so people can wrap their heads around it and not be fooled by it.

Still confused. I dont see anything in that article where fox described Gabbi as anything other than "Former Hawaii congresswoman and Democratic presidential candidate"

Exactly! They are just throwing smoke. Why do you think they are going it? Think of the past 4 years of politics...

Ok, so just to recap, this thread is about Fox/Trump throwing smoke at Tulsi by calling her ""Former Hawaii congresswoman and Democratic presidential candidate"?

There are lots of names for it. Conspiratirial...collusion. When the Soviets did it, it was mandated and ordered by the government. Same with the Nazis. But in this case its different because it is all a bunch of like minded leftists working no one is having to be forced or coerced to be leftist media whores...they do it willingly. The Social media platforms are all built for it. Its pretty well coordinated.

:ROFLMAO:

Your party made the 9th place 'also ran' one fragile brain cell away form being president.

It also is 'i have to blame someone else for my screwing up'

Listen to the words they use to describe

sorry - my internet line went down ... ok so what I'm saying is if you take the names of Tulsi and Clinton out of the description it is exactly what Trump has done and is doing (and has almost nothing at all to do with Tulsi and Clinton) ... That's the "who farted" approach. It is an effective attempt to confuse people so they don't believe their own good sense....

Im starting to think maybe you linked the wrong article. There is no description in the article you linked. Quote exactly what youre referring to.

So there appears to be a lot of confusion about what I'm talking about ... this is natural as the FOX news segment was designed to confuse people ..., but for those who now understand what I'm talking about please start brainstorming on a simple and descriptive name for the technique that could catch on. Thanks!

ok ... The FOX script went something like,
"Powerful elite people like Hilary Clinton the deep state and the media … they are all colluding to destroy the outsiders who they feel is a threat to their power. Those who put country first. Those who are not afraid to challenge the establishment and those who don’t toe the line. They do all they can to silence and sensor and eliminate these outsiders that they deem pose a threat to their power and this is what is so dangerous. This is bigger than any individual. It is actually a threat to our democracy and the American people and their arrogance that they think they have the right to do this and without any regard as to who gets hurt in the process or how it undermines our country / our democracy and damages and hurts to interests of the American people. And the worst part is the get away with it…."

... So if you omit the names Clinton and Tolsi and insert the name Trump it starts to make sense. It is a precise description of what he is doing. He did his best to destroy and Liz's power. He is also trying to crush another honest Republican named Adam Kinzinger who started an organization to focus on "truth" literally named "Country First" https://www.country1st.com/. He sues or buys off anyone he can to silence them. He has threatened our democracy on several levels but most notably on Jan 6 ....

There is a book called HOAX, that was written by Brian Stelter, which describes this kind of behavior on the part of Fox News... I think it is time I re-read the book....

Those are Tulsi Gabbard's words from the video, not Fox. This has nothing to do with Trump or Fox.

ok ... yeah ... dang ... you got a point and that takes the air out of my tires, but this is still a thing...it deserves a name.

Another thought from your comment ... Keeping in mind that the criticism on from the left and about the left and it sounds exactly like what I hate about the right ... makes you wonder what Tulsi is up to and if she's just telling it how it is (instead of casting shade out of sour grapes) then ... doesn't leave the nation with much functional leadership to look to except maybe a few scattered outsiders like Adam Kinzinger....
