What do you call another school shooting in America?

I have a middle schooler …. every day when I drop him off I make double sure to tell him I love him because today might be the last time I see him alive…. Even with all the hardening and protocols.

It’s depressing to have that thought as a parent.

You're one who lives in that fantasy of Minutemen patriots standing up to and defeating the tyranny of an evil king. When the US government wants you dead, you're dead, regardless of how many pea shooters you and your neighbors have.

I don’t believe you.

This is why.

Trump has done the following:
  • attempted to overturn the 2020 election by making false allegations of election fraud,
  • repeatedly attempted to usurp Congress's power of the purse by withholding funding that had been appropriated by Congress,
  • imposed tariffs on imports through the use of emergency powers based on false pretenses,
  • ordered the government to buy shares in private companies,
  • unconstitutionally attempt to take revenue from export sales,
  • fired federal prosecutors he viewed as political enemies,
  • bullied and threatened to withhold federal funding from universities that do not comply with his religious and cultural agenda.
  • launched investigations based on false pretenses against political opponents,
  • punished businesses and law firms critical of him,
  • deported immigrants without due process to foreign prisons to be beaten and sexually abused, an evil, grotesque violation of their god-given individual rights.
  • expanded mass detention of immigrants,
  • sent military personnel to major U.S. cities under the false pretense of tackling crime or enforcing immigration law.
  • threatened to cut funds to states and cities that refuse to enforce his political policies, etc.
Yet you still support him.

It took me a long time to realize this, but people who call themselves libertarians are usually motivated less by a love of liberty and more by a desire to keep the federal government from giving funds and resources to minorities, and to block minorities from fully exercising their individual rights without interference from other individuals or from state governments. For most so-called “libertarians,” that’s 90% of what drives them.

And when "libertarians" talk about the 2nd amendment they talk about it as a means to reserve the practical ability to use violence and the threat of violence against black people and other minorities.

I do not believe a single word you have to say about any political topic. Not a single word.

What about a president shouldn't be a criminal asshole open to working for foreign hostile powers purely for his own personal financial gain, you know, the way it was for almost 250 years.

Yeah, and the right wants to continue to quash recognition of these kids in schools, to try and pretend they dont exist, that there's "something wrong with them," and exacerbate their exclusion and bullying.

This isnt the first trans shooter. Unfortunately, it's not likely to be the last.

If the access to guns was the problem, there would be far more violence and murders. There are somewhere between 400 to 500 million guns in private hands in the US. Yet less then .1% of them are used in the commission of crimes. The problem is not the guns; it's a revolving door criminal justice system.
