What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

Fries ( sm portion ) with made from scratch mushroom gravy, topped with Italian style shredded cheese. My contribution to the poutine world.
Large salad. Now that the heatwave is giving us a break and the tomatoes aren't cooking on the vine, it seems they recovered and are ready to produce more.

My brother-in-law brought us fresh caught flounder that he cleaned, filleted, deboned and cooked. I fixed up some crispy fried baby reds and a tomato-onion salad. Cantaloup, honey dew and strawberries.
He knows his baby sister loves fish but gags when it comes to cleaning fish. I'll clean crabs live, steam them, pick them for him. I think it's a good deal for him.

It was in the low 80's today, the day in weeks without a 100+ heat index or a flash flood warning/watch. And we had a cool breeze!

It is great to be outside without getting fried.
We enjoyed a few minutes of front porch time until the hummingbirds told us to leave.

Our hummers are living their best life. They were all going nuts today for the feeders and the sunflowers, cardinal plants and the phlox.

God that sounds awesome 😋. Flounder is my favorite fish and the sides sound great too.

Did they let you in for free? County fairs are so much fun. Can't believe it's that time of year already.
I let myself in for free.😎. I’ve been doing it for a number of years now as a Lions Club volunteer. You meet some very nice people and I love when little ones are with their parents. I’ll give them the ticket and occasionally the change. They love it. Makes them feel important.🤩

WOW! Yes, that would have thrilled me as a kid!

Last night was the Thai grilled beef salad (I can never remember the name, Crying Tiger was so much easier) and California broccoli salad. It has mini orange slices in it and they were tasteless. Which is good because I dont really like citrus in most salads. :D

Lunch today was tex-mex pumpkin soup from my freezer batch and the leftover Thai beef. No clash at all, spice heaven!

We had black bean burgers and sweet potatoes, diced, seasoned with lemon thyme, lemon zest, salt, pepper and a touch of olive oil, roasted to perfection. Lime crema was a refreshing dipping sauce for the burgers..

I saw sweet potatoes with a BBQ potato chip crust on a food channel show...Definitely on my list.

I made three cheese turkey pasta. I think that I did a decent job with it. It's basically pasta with cream, garlic, cheese, and ground turkey.
