What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

Got off to a bad start today. I didn’t feel well and we had a wake to attend in New Jersey late afternoon. We stopped at a Perkins pancake on the way home so we both ate breakfast for dinner. Wife had a Belgian waffle w/syrupal, and I had an everything omelette w/hashbrowns, rye toast and chocolate milk.
Hope that you are feeling better.

Does anyone use celery salt? I picked some up because my son likes it in a snack we both make; I am making him a sack of it for Fathers Day. Anyway, tonight I used it for the first time, in a hodgepodge of leftovers I mixed up. The celery salt smelled and tasted good--until I swallowed. There was a very strong bitter flavor in the very back of my throat. Lasted through the meal. Is celery salt bitter?

I use it on cucumber sandwiches sometimes.

Breakfast for dinner is the best breakfast.

I think celery seeds have a slightly bitter note which I also have noted in celery leaves. I find it to be rather pleasant in some applications. Not sure about the celery salt. We don't use it.

Maybe I used too much. It was too bitter to be enjoyable. I'll experiment one more time before I take it back to the store.

I use it in my BBQ rub and of course Bloody Caesars (Marys). I also use a tad in potato salad. I have never found it tasted bitter.

I made spaghetti with red meat sauce, warm baguette, and a salad.

I haven't felt like cooking for a few weeks but today I wanted a bowl of pasta and red sauce, and I had the energy to make it.

Pop requested meatloaf and stewed tomatoes so 🤷‍♀️

I’m making him meatloaf, stewed tomatoes and garlic and herb “mashed cauliflower” since he’s currently not eating potatoes/carbs.

Kiddo and I have been at the pool/lake all afternoon so we aren’t very hungry and we are having corn on the cob.

Dessert for everyone is fruit plates - I’ve got a watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, strawberries, gigantic red grapes and blueberries.

Somewhere around here is my motivation to get those cut up and also get the fridge cleaned out. 😂

It might be hiding in the bottom of an Aryloom Orange Creamsicle THC/CBD “seltzer”. I think I’m going to check. 😂

Sandwich on French bread with roast beef, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, oil/vinegar, basil/oregano. Delivery from Jimmy John's.

Took the family out for dinner after running an errand. Kids got kiddo stuff, and my wife and I had fancy sports bar pizza and some fried pickles.

I made roasted Brussels sprouts a baked potato and a grilled turkey and Swiss cheese on rye bread. I put the sprouts in the oven first(the wrong order), so they were done 30 minutes before the baked potato. I was still hungry after I ate the veggies so I made the grilled sandwich in my cast iron pan. Nobody will ever accuse me of intelligence.

Meh, sometimes thoughts are elsewhere.
