What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

What kind of steak did you prepare?
Looks like it was a pre-marinated Angus beef filet. I think that I cooked it right. Pan cooking steaks isn't ideal, but I think that I tenderized it ok and got it to medium well. It was definitely better than the shoe leatherish steak from a couple days ago, which wasn't terrible, either. I feel like I'm getting a bit better at steaking.

The baked potato, though? That was cooked just right.

I'm currently cooking a baked potato with Hormel chili, cheese, and sour cream. Sounds about right for today. If I remember correctly Wendy's Superbar had a baked potato bar, so that's what I'm doing. I usually got the pasta there, so I'll make up for that tonight.

Your memory is serving you well, Helix. Back in the 80s and 90s when I owned an air freight delivery biz and was driving hundreds of miles per day, I'd hit those Wendy's Superbars often and ate many of those baked potatoes. They were as big as footballs.

I remember my friend's parents taking us to see Scrooged, and then we stopped at Wendy's on the way home. I got the Superbar and ate like a teenager. That was part of my first trip to fat, and it was great until it wasn't. I'm not doing that again. Food diary for the rest of my life, and dealing with my wife and kid's jokes that I have no ass. Losing that weight was the second best health decision that I ever made.

However, tonight is Superbar reminiscing night.

Take it from an older man who has done a lot of sports and manual labor, my friend. Keep doing your walking thing, and do a 'lot' of stretching. Keeping one's muscles flexible will definately serve you well in your 'Golden Years', and the stretching also will keep those muscles strong, which helps keep arthritis issues at bay and also helps support the skeleton from older age deterioration.

Watched football and we had a craving for shrimp. Store-bought steamed shrimp with Old Bay, nuked a couple of potatoes and steamed some fresh broccoli. Cherry Garcia.

Corned beef and cabbage. Cold day for a delicious oven cooked pot roast. Oh today is not St. Patrick's day. Well I still have 3 more in the freezer. I am sure I will get it right next time.
We always like to also make a corned beef and just slice it, have warm sandwiches on fresh Korn's Rye Bread from a Jewish Deli. They come out good slow cooked in a crock pot also.
