What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

Yesterday's leftovers and it will be a repeat again tomorrow.
I have 3 really over ripe bananas in the fruit bowl. I see banana walnut muffins a reality tomorrow. But tonight, I want to make a batch of corn meal mush for breakfast tomorrow. I like putting it in a loaf pan, place in the fridge overnight. Remove it from the loaf pan, slice and fry in butter/oil until lightly golden on both sides. Drizzle with maple syrup! MMmmmmmm good eats.

I haven’t had mush in years. Enjoy

This is hot as **** but a bit vinagry: https://heatonist.com/products/hot-ones-hot-sauce-the-last-dab-xperience

I thought it might be so face-melting that maybe I could only manage drop at a time. But it was not so. It IS hot as **** and none of you should eat it, but I honestly believe this is hotter despite its maker claiming it's much less hot:

I ate at least 3x of the first one what I usually eat of the Ground Zero. (Ground Zero, though, is more of a sharp smoky heat, less pepper flavor) But it gets worse. This is just like...liquid smokey poison:

That's just..ow. The cap has a dropper attached. So you put a tiny bit on your plate and pray. (more of the smoky heat, even less flavor)

Then there's this:

https://www.hotsauce.com/Magic-Plan...MIwPm1vq_nigMV8ZWDBx1wXRdqEAQYAyABEgLZXPD_BwE

Which is probably either tied or a bit hotter than the last one. It's a paste that you're supposed to make sauces with. I use it straight. That one can actually screw my digestion.

Just thought you'd all like to know how I enjoy to torture myself, time to time. Sorry .... it's not kinky.

BUT....for pepper flavor, I go for pure dry powders. Sauces are for certain circumstances where I want more heat, maybe more smoke/vinegar, etc.

Country fried steak, white gravy, mashed red potatoes, collards leftover from New Years. Haven't fixed this in a long while and it hit the spot for this freezing day.

A fellow spice addict? You know that steam will come out of your ears but you go in for more?
I'll have to try Da'Bomb, (Ingredients: Habanero Peppers, Pepper Extract, Apricot Nectar, Mustard Flour, Garlic, Allspice & Spices.) Reads nicely balanced.

It's way hotter than I expected it to be. Be careful . . .

DaBomb is supposedly vile, and has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

That was fun, thanks.
Hot Ones is a great show. The host interviews celebrities as they progress through 10 chicken wings that get progressively hotter, with #10 usually having a Scoville rating in the millions. Makes for a very interesting interview. The show is in it's 26th season.

Well, I was going to make beast stew for tonight but we got busy doing other stuff and it got too late. However, I did make a quick chicken soup with diced pre cooked chicken breast, chicken stock, carrots, onions, celery, and rice noodles. We had four hard boiled eggs in the fridge so presto chango it became egg salad on 15 grain bread. Beast stew will have to wait till tomorrow.

I love that, too!

We finished off the last of the turkey and sides.
Tomorrow, will be making a pot roast with veggies.
Made banana nut muffins today for breakfast tomorrow out of those pathetic bananas sitting in the fruit bowl..

My #1 'No Frills/gotta eat now' go-to meal. - Can of albacore tuna straight out of the can, dill pickle spear, salad, small bowl of cinnamon applesauce.

Total prep time (officially timed by the Mrs.) - 93 seconds - Yummy! -

I checked out your links. The first one and the last one use Pepper X and the Carolina Reaper, both 1st and 2nd as the hottest peppers in the world (currently). Both developed by Smokin' Ed Currie. I follow him, among others, on Instagram. He also has a YouTube channel. The other 2, depends.

Have you seen the documentary series Superhot: The Spicy World of Pepper People? I think it was on Netflix...totally nuts! But also fascinating and went into the competitiveness & secrecy of the breeding. Showed eating competitions too. And this amazing British woman who was absolute queen and had only 3 wins to go to be undefeated in 100 international hot pepper eating competitions. She also paid for it for 72 hrs after every competition.

Most interesting thing I found is that hot pepper eating is big with addicts and alcoholics. The endorphin rushes replace the addicted substances and many overcome their addictions by eating super hot peppers.

For me, I want to taste the flavor as much as the heat and really like discovering that in different peppers. I do use dried or granulated pepper spices or dried and roast whole and grind. But habanero/scotch bonnet is as far I go with pure heat and that docu-series convinced me I dont want to go further. Ghost pepper was a killer and that barely even ranks anymore.

Huh. I suppose that makes a sort of sense.

I don't put pepper on everything, and I usually use dry powder or flakes. Ghost chili powder is the most common one. This is my favorite:

But yeah, it's a few times hotter than a habenero so...

But it's got a great intense fruity-smoky flavor.
