What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

Been on the road for three days.....after a day of driving not too keen on going out. First night forgetable pizza, second night I made nachos in the room, last night lucked out with a really good Mexican restaurant close to the hotel. I had cheese enchiladas with salsa Verde. DH had fajitas...really yummy stuff. Tonight we are going to a mom and pop BBQ joint. They offer a Nashville hot which I've been dying to try forever. DH is looking at the BBQ smoked platter.....will report back.

You might just really like chocolate milk as a comfort food, but it wouldn't hurt to take a calcium supplement, and magnesium would help you sleep if you have bouts of insomnia.

When do you plan to arrive? I recall you wanted to get through Atlanta on Sunday...so hope you did.

Okay. What’s Mala oil?
I've tried different recipes but I like this one best.

35 secs in shows a list of ingredients.
What I find unnecessary about her steps is bringing the oil up to temp and then pouring it over the spices. I just dump the spices in the oil. Lazy dishwasher approach, I suppose.
If you are a flavor enthusiast, you'll love it.

How authentic is this @SayMyName? I suppose everyone has their own recipe?
Thank you

@Lovebug ...Malatang...I think they mostly do it your way from what I have seen. After heating you add whatever vegetables and meat you want as it boils. Great during the winter months.

Made a pot of vegetable beef soup yesterday. When you have a cold your tastebuds are off. Have no idea if it was any good because I really can't taste it. All I know it is full of good stuff that will help heal the body. We ate it again today and will be eating the last of it tomorrow. It's like that with just about everything I prepare. Today we finished off a stack of blueberry pancakes I made 3 days ago.

I was too lazy to even call for take out Chinese food....so am steaming some frozen vegetable pot stickers over a can of low sodium chicken stock.....a healthy alternative...lol. I promise to make a pot roast tomorrow...

I always have some of those in my freezer. Heat and serve quick dinner.

Mike's Sub Italian sub: salami, capicola, ham, pepperoni, and some other meat, provolone, lettuce, tomato, extra onion, pepperoncini.

Half for lunch, half for dinner. I dont care, it was freakin' good. Made my own oil and vinegar dressing with EVOO and red wine vinegar and Italian herbs.

Arrived today. Went through Atlanta at 9:30 AM Sunday...a breeze. Pretty much settled in with basic groceries. Will order pizza tonight from our all time favorite pizza joint.

Reporting back on the BBQ. As it turns out it wasn't a Mom and Pop joint but boy was it good! I finally got to try a Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich and it was delicious! DH had their combo smoked ribs, brisket and pulled pork platter....he loved it but there was a lot! Didn't disappoint!!

Happy you guys made it okay. Enjoy your time there.

Shrimp scampi with linguini, green salad with grape tomatoes, onion, mixed olives, diced red pepper, cucumber, feta cheese in a Greek dressing, garlic bread, water.
Beats the heck out of my barber poles...
