What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

Yes. Have you tried pesto with feta instead of parm? It is more creamy. I also omit the nuts before freezing.
Cilantro and parsley freeze well also. I puree parsley with olive oil and lemon juice, olive oil and lime juice for cilantro.
You go girl! I do not omit the nuts. Have you ever tried sunflower seeds instead?

Cheese ravioli with basil Alfredo saucei
Garlic bread.
Great idea for an easy inexpensive tasty meal if one uses ready made fresh or frozen raviolis, a jar Alfredo sauce and frozen garlic bread ready to pop into the oven. Great for the busy family. When the kids were home, I would often pick up a bag of frozen raviolis that would allow me to put together a meal in 30 minutes on nights when the kids needed to get to sports, band, debate team, choir etc that evening. Now with meat and groceries in general that have become so expensive, it is a great idea for anyone trying to stretch their dollars.

What is rocket? Hope you and your family are doing okay there.

You may know it as roquet? It's a salad green with a slight peppery tang. I cut it up fine for the omelette.

I'm not in Ukraine, though. I use the Opera browser with a build-in VPN. It recently switched me to Ukraine and hopefully the VPN traffic is masking some vlogger or twitterer there.

Thank you, I didn't know it by either name, but it sounds very good for an omelet. I'm glad you're not in Ukraine, my heart goes out to the people there, and I hope for the best.

Havent had it yet, in stages of preparation right now!

I got a sweet potato in the oven, which I like baked with just a touch of cinnamon, very easy, and a little butter.

I have some green beans, they have been in the fridge for longer than I'd like so they aren't awesome but they'll do.

And then I just put the charcoal in the grill pretty soon I'll fire it up got a nicely marbled and yummy looking Delmonico thats been sitting on the counter getting warm for awhile. I do that so it isnt like refrigerator cold when I put it on the grill, it causes uneven cooking. You want your steak room temp when you put it on there so it sears and gets warm nicely and evenly. get that puppy about medium rare to medium (more medium rare), but with that fat nice and crispy on the outside. Basically you just sear each side for abt 2 minutes, dont get it too done!

Then I gotta nice bottle of Merlot, matter of fact I'm having a glass now.

This is one of my favorite meals and very simple for me, potato cooks itself, green beans I just steam for 8 min and sauté in butter for a minute, maybe some lemon juice.

The hot grill makes that steak MMMMMMMMM, I just use salt and pepper no need to screw up a good thing, then you get a lil sip of that wine and DAMN thats good!
Bakes sweet potato melts in your mouth as well.

Had a little ice and snow recently so the deck where the grills at has some ice on it. A winter time steak grilling in progress!

Bon Appetite!

Just wanted to add, this is a very simple meal (I am a bachelor and dont like a big hassle), but theres also an art to it.

Basically a good deal of it lies in your fire. Its got to be hot enough to sear and have it sizzle while its on there, you're not slow cooking it man!!!

But you dont want it so hot that the outside is charred of course with flames coming up. I used to have gas grills and this and that, but all that stuff sucks. Just a nice little Webber grill, the little black kettle grill is PERFECT. You get quality charcoal as well. Man, you never get any flavor on a gas grill, I won't ever buy another one. I paid $35 or something for that little Webber and I've used it all last summer and this winter, cooked on it a bunch and its still got lots of life left in it.

So REAL fire and not gas, get it hot enough but not too hot, I also throw a few apple wood chips on there right before I put the steak on.

Mmmm, better than Ezra!!

Crispy Chili Rellenos and shredded beef burrito, both smothered in green chili sauce.

Hah, caught you. You puppy-eating monster!

I always thought rocket was arugula?

I just saw a picture of some arugula, and the description of the taste matches too. 99% sure it's the same thing.

I would never put lettuce in an omelette, it would be like adding water. But the arugula/rocket is tasty enough.

I really like arugula/rocket. It wakes up a salad for sure.

DQ single
Small fries.

We have been doing work on properties, so there have been a lot of road meals lately.

I made Hungarian potato, cabbage, and sausage soup,

Went to try a flounder sandwich today early in the afternoon from Popeye's. Was going to have some corn flakes and rice milk later if we were hungry, but neither of us were.

Bundled up and made our first 2 pizzas in our new outdoor pizza oven. One 12" inch mushroom and one 16" Margherita, Seaglass Pinot Noir. Took 20 minutes to heat the oven and 1 minute to bake each. Nice char on the bottom and perfect texture. Will be trying out steak and fish during the week.
