tortilla chips with mild cheddar dip

Some really awesome shepherds Pie out of the last of the left-over really awesome Army Style Meat Loaf...was made Sat, sometimes things linger longer than I like....we dont eat a lot these days.

The Wife decided that the chex mix I made today is her dinner.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I drizzled a few different kinds of Taco Bell sauce paks over the top....I have never done this before.....IT WORKS!

EDIT 2: Some people would demand that I call this Mock Shepherds pie.

My friends and I went to a Spanish tapas bar. Spanish egg and potato omelets, chorizo croquettes, patatas bravas, Spanish meatballs in paprika sauce, salami and fried quail eggs on crispy flatbread, all downed with generous glasses of red wine.

Currently boiling the legs of an Octopus in a spiced win, lemon, pepper, salt and olive oil boil. After 90 min, going to let cool to room temp, then throw over hot coals for 3-5 min a side. Serve hot.

Tonight is going to be marinated steak tips from the feel-good meat share program.

Well, the marinade is mine. The steak is theirs. I mixed Stubbs (original?) and Jack Daniels Old No. 7. But then I added: 1/4th TSP red boat salt (basically a punch of umami; it's from barrels of anchovies, I think. the fish taste melts into the rest and you don't notice it), bit of black truffle salt, various other spices, and a shot of bulleit bourbon.

Going to be between rare and medium rare, I think.

Last night: I made super-fatty pizzas. Double cheese, pepperoni, two kinds of sausage (one the normal type for pizzas, the other cut up garlic & something chorizo, previously grilled), and leftovers from a time I sauteed the following: shaved steak (meat share), bacon (meat share), bone marrow, green peppers, mushrooms, onion.

It was more like a Chicago deep dish except with a normal crust, so it was more of a mound on crisp dough. It was awesome. It also planted me in a chair for a couple hours (aka, filling)

lost two pounds this week, so i had Pizza King.

salad
cheese pizza
1 breadstick

going to keep at it this week. i'm not overweight, but i'm slightly above my comfortable range.

Had leftover lamb so I made lamb and barley soup. Came out great!

Roasted butternut squash soup, topped with grilled jalapeno slices, some yummy bread.

Jealous of the octopus. I've been able to get even younger/smaller ones, but none that size ..... which I would love to grill.

There's a really nice seafood "Retail/Wholesale" place here that I get it from. They also have Turtle meat, might just do that for soup one day.

Great thread.

Pizza.

salad
2 cheese pizza slices

We had smashed fried parm potatoes, cucumber salad on the side. I find that, adding a good amount of salt, pepper and vinegar...rice wine is my favorite...to the potatoes while boiling, makes them taste even better.

I made a Brunswick Stew recipe in the crockpot, and turned out to be more like Brunswick Soup. It does have jalapenos in it that make it very spicy. Love it!

Beef Pot Pie with these very well trimmed knife tenderized beef stew meat cubes that I told my wife she payed too much at Kroger for, but you now what.....?

what is 'knife tenderized'?

what is 'knife tenderized'?

Where they run it though this machine that we had at the Ft Huachuca chow hall that has two wheels top and bottom that makes lots of little knife slits on both sides most of the way through.... thus tenderizing by cutting through muscle cells.

What is called cube steak is almost always this.

Thank you for asking.
