What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

I hope you're feeling better soon.
I'm feeling OK now but my brain is just a little buzzed. I move around without any pain but my brain feels like I am trying to swim in mud when I stare mindlessly at a laptop screen or attempt to watch a YouTube video. The worst part of the procedure was having to lay in post-op recovery for 4 hours getting only ice-chips or sips of ginger ale. The nurses kept asking me if I wanted a warm blanket but I'm a hot person, so they had to dig up a personal AC unit a to put under my sheets so I was cool enough. Most of the people coming out of surgery were cold so the room was unnaturally warm for me.

When I got home I cut off my various wrist bands(2 on each arm) because hospital chic is not yet in fashion. I have a large bruise on my right wrist when they tried to put in an IV but my vein kept moving. My throat is a little irritated from being intubated during the procedure.

Im guessing my dreams tonight are going to be epically bizarre because of the effects of the anesthesia as I slowly metabolize it.

I just looked up peameal bacon because I’d never heard of it before. Next time we’re in Canada I’ll have to try it.😎
I've shared it here before and people were unsure except the Canadians. Sharing pictures helped a bit.
French toast and peameal bacon.

I'm surprised peameal is unavailable in the States...maybe we can work a deal with the tariff nonsense

I always get a kick out what Americans call Canadian bacon. Peameal or back bacon is Canadian...not that stuff
Yes but I miss it so, and I thought it would be bountiful. It has been barren.

So, you're feeling like shit. I hope you're feeling better now. Hugs.

Thank you but I feel fine. My mind is clearer today but I still have not taken any pain pills. Last nights dreams were something out of a Pink Floyd video. If it wasn't for the bandage on my right side I would never know I was ever in the hospital.

Our son brought our granddaughter over for a visit on his day off. She refused to leave with him. We're that great. We had her current favorite, hot dogs sliced and Kraft mac, strawberry ice cream.

Must have been the weekend for family visits. Daughter came for a visit. She cooked all the dinners. Wine with every meal, little pre-dinner appetizers and fancy main dishes. Delightful! She left this morning at 5AM. Leftovers tonight and no exotic little appetizers.

You are a sly grandma😎. A little bribery always works like a charm for grandparents 😂

Canadian bacon isn't Canadian, English muffins aren't English, French fries aren't French, next they'll be telling us that Swiss cheese isn't Swiss. It's an uncertain world today. :-)

I'm not a sly grandma, so I resorted to lying:

I was once preparing Brussel sprouts for my young nieces, but they were rather dubious until I told them they were pixie cabbages.

The sprouts were soon gobbled-up.

Sadly, a week or so later my nieces visited and flatly refused to eat the sprouts I proposed cooking. Seems my half-sister told my nieces they weren't actually pixie cabbages.
