What did you do for a workout today?

Didnt get as far as i liked on the Sally Challenge. :p

Yesterday I just felt like doing a nice slow endurance run of 4 miles. Normally I'll alternate between walking and more intensive runs for a cardiovascular workout.

Not very exciting, admittedly, but we have a nice park nearby and I hate the holy hell out of gyms.

Yup, still have a lot to do though, so you'll have to get your own beer. Sorry.
OK, you've had had plenty of time to get that done. Where's my beer?

I planted some snap dragons and some kind of viney thing in my planters today. Get your own beer, I don't even drink them. ;)

"Some kind of viney thing?" It's called poison ivy.

It's still a bit early to plant stuff outdoors in my area. Just had a record low again the other day.

I can't remember what it's called, and I threw away the little tag.

It's supposed to be in the 60s here all this coming week. I'm psyched!

I digested a bunch of unhealthy food.

Back to running tomorrow!

Here in NW Ohio it's going to be 60s and 70s all week. It's still to early to put any plants outdoors though. We usually get our last frost in May.

But the weather this week is supposed to be spectacular. It's about damn time!

I thought the weather was warm in Mecca.

I don't really live in Mecca. And I'm not really the Muslim prophet.

By happenstance, the day I joined this forum was the same day I saw that cartoon that supposedly had so many Muslims all worked up. And I thought it was absolutely silly that that's what all the fuss was about. So I used it as my avatar and Muhammed as my username.

Allah Akbar!

Oh well, I'm really glad we cleared that up!

Just finished a 6.5 mile run. Boo yah.

Got to 2:00 minutes this time on the Bring Sally Up Pushup Challange. 2nd try.

And a bunch of handstand pushups.

exercise bike, 30 mins
golf, pulling clubs, 120 mins
walking, 30 mins
situps
weight lifting

Poured and finished a 40' X 6' X 4" concrete porch cap by myself. It was only 3 cubic yards of concrete, however, I had to wheel it ~80 feet up the driveway, another ~50 feet around the side of the house into the back yard, then turn the wheelbarrow around and run with it to get up enough momentum to push it up a 3 foot high ramp up onto the porch.

When you consider that a standard 6 cu. ft. contractor's wheelbarrow full of concrete weighs close to 1000 pounds, I'd say that just getting the concrete back onto the porch was a pretty good workout just by itself.

That's not counting the screeding, and finishing processes which also takes a lot of physical effort.

I got up this morning. I was pleased to discover I lived through the night. The warranty on my body has long since expired and there are so many disclaimers...

I walk 5 miles 5 days a week.

During work days I walk 12-18 thousand steps a day. On weekends about half of that. Didn't know that until I started using a pedometer app on my cell phone.

I wonder if that is as good as walking X number of miles?

I got one of those Nike wrist bands and was surprised about how much I walk during the day. Once I became conscious of it, I would add extra steps like parking far away, going to rooms the long way, trying to find excuses to use the stairs etc.....this on top of walking 2 miles in the morning before work and 3 after work. Weekends is a different story. I clock less than 100 steps one Saturday. It was scary.

I hate olympic and power lifting moves, except for bench press. Seems like they are so brutal on your body, as is pretty much everything crossfit. You aren't concerned about your back?
