Suck on this masterpiece, sunshine:
Are you seriously going to argue your prospects as a woman to lead a healthy, fulfilling life are better living in Mexico than they are here in the US? If you are, we can end the conversation right now.I will agree there is an outdated machismo mindset but to say the majority of women in Mexico are little more than property is not true. They even elected a woman President before the US, so they are somewhat ahead of us on some gender roles.

I think your assertion of Mexico being better for women is nuts.I know a lot of strong women living healthy fulfilling lives in Mexico and many prefer to live over there than here. I don't know why you think it's so rare.

Here's a by-country rating of women's rights by Georgetown University and their take on Mexico:Every woman is different and I never said it was better, did I?
Posting a masterpiece of 20th c Mexican classical music in a thread about Mexico in response to a post denigrating Mexican culture is, in your head, 'baiting' huh. Life's too short. You are dismissed.Baiting aside, perhaps you'd care to comment on how Mexico human freedom index ranks in the world:

They're just above Kenya and below shitholes to Columbia and Sierra Leone.
Glad you mentioned Guanajuato, which some tourists skip over when visiting San Miguel Allende. Gorgeous city, university town with great festivals and customs.Beaches and sun on the coast, interesting colonial cities like San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato inland.

Mexico ranks 142 out of 177 countries.
When it comes to treating women equally under the law, we can safely label Mexico as one of the world's most misogynist shit holes.
It's as if you're suddenly afraid to speak up for women's rights because (gasp!) it would mean agreeing with me.
I fell in love with both cities. I bought a vacation house in San Miguel de Allende, preferring it for its larger expat community.Glad you mentioned Guanajuato, which some tourists skip over when visiting San Miguel Allende. Gorgeous city, university town with great festivals and customs.
Mexico has great music, incredibly friendly and hospitable people, excellent varied foods to eat, and on and on. There are several vacations to take there, whether it’s to the center of the country, Baja California, the Yucatán or the pacific coast beach cities near Acapulco. On the one hand, it hasn’t been served well by its government. But on the other, it abolished slavery years before the US did (one of the reasons for the Alamo) and not only has elected a female president, but also had indigenous presidents years before the US elected a Black leader. And they gave us Fernando Valenzuela.
I would argue that for all the silly machismo most Latin nations respect women more than the States, particularly as leaders.I will agree there is an outdated machismo mindset but to say the majority of women in Mexico are little more than property is not true. They even elected a woman President before the US, so they are somewhat ahead of us on some gender roles.
Truth.Good Tequila, bad beer
I think you're letting anecdotes sway your thinking. Mexico has some serious cultural problems, and the cite I posted (i.e., the one you blithely ignored) proves it.Posting a masterpiece of 20th c Mexican classical music in a thread about Mexico in response to a post denigrating Mexican culture is, in your head, 'baiting' huh. Some people lived safe, fulfilling lives in the USSR. Why do you believe that observation is relevant?I did agree with you, if you look back. Why can't you also admit there are some women who live in Mexico and do live a safe, fulfilling life?

America has no business pointing fingers at anyone else when it comes to 'cultural problems'.Moral relativism, the last bastion of a meaningless argument.
Sure we do. Culturally, we are vastly superior to most nations. HIstorically, and when you consider the importance of human rights, we are perhaps the most important nation in the history of the planet. Even Trump can't change that.America has no business pointing fingers at anyone else when it comes to 'cultural problems'.
You are the world's cautionary tale in that regard.
