And there was no ulterior motive for omitting guns in your reply? huh.

Why are you shouting? I noted that you omitted the thing that he said. Guns.

you can LOL all you want, but when I was a kid, you could buy guns through the mail and machine guns were not all that more expensive than similar semi automatic weapons. And guess what, the mass shootings were not happening all the time.

why are you posting obtuse nonsense? you pretended I omitted guns. I merely added what he neglected to add. Smart people see that clearly.

Thanks for that heartwarming story from your youth. 🤡

How do you know what smart people see?

Pretend? Did you post the word "gun" in your response? You did not.

Are you unable to understand the concept of addition? You are really posting nonsense now.

Why do you keep responding? It implies that you think I have a point that you need to dispute.

what was your point in the first place?

Aww, it's not that far back. You can scroll up.
yes, you seemed to want to engage in contrarian bullshit by pretending something that was not accurate. you were suggesting I omitted guns. I did not. I was adding to his list. you seemed unable to comprehend that

Oh golly...lets look at a number of factors.

-For the last 30 years more and more people have been diagnosed with mental health issues and been prescribed numerous cocktails of medications. A significant portion of the country literally cant function without chemical assistance.
-We have raised generations of kids on violent video games. No...I'm not blaming the video games for the shootings but those ideas tend to fester in peoples brains.
-Increasing numbers of people have been indoctrinated with the 'fairness' doctrine that teaches them that the world is supposed to be a safe place and people arent supposed to hurt their feelings and subsequently they shouldnt have to deal with situations that they find hurtful or damaging to their poor little psyche.
-We have stopped preparing people for life and the real world which means sometime the job sucks, sometimes the girl breaks your heart, sometimes you arent going to like people and they arent going to like you. We stopped teaching people about personal responsibility and owning their own lives and their own shitty choices.

If you really want an answer to the question, look at each of the cases and read for yourself and see if you can see the themes.

As your list implies there are two causes of mass shootings: 1) some form of psychopathology(s), and 2) access to firearms.

There's not much we can do about either of these two causes at present, idealists' musings notwithstanding.

However, the reason we ask these questions is because of the increase in prevalence of mass shootings.

The increase in prevalence is a direct consequence of squeezing in more people per square mile which facilitates neuroticism, a consequence of unmanaged population increase from both births over deaths and unchecked immigration over emigration.

Once someone is at the cusp of committing a mass shooting, the fact that there's so much of it in the news does help a bit to push the shooter over the edge.

But until we can reduce the population, and while the population increases, the prevalence of mass shootings will continue to increase.

It is actually quite simple. In a society of over 330 million people, you are going to have a few ass bags.

There is no law, ordinance, or prayer that will stop some people from being dicks.

However, these people only make up about 1/10,000th of one percent of the population. Your odds of being killed in a mass shooting are less than 1 in 700,000. To put that in perspective your odds of being struck by lightning are about 1 in 15,000. For so many people to have an irrational fear of mass shootings shows mental illness in this country is at a high level.

They lack Home training.

you really didn't read the thread very well. one poster claimed the only thing mass shootings have in common are guns. I was noting OTHER things that mass shootings have in common.

The only thing that is UNIVERSAL to *all* mass shootings, and all shooting deaths and injuries:

Guns.

Thats it. Thats the common thread. ALWAYS.

EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

Now: You *thank* me Turtle.

thanks for demonstrating you don't have any valid rebuttal

I do not waste verbiage on trite, fanciful reminisces of youth submitted in place of qualified and quantified facts.

You may enjoy rabbits holes, I am above that kind of thing.

more fail-if there are no victims-there would be no mass shooting.
if there were no bullets, there would be no mass shooting
if there was no shooter, there would be no mass shooting.
all are equally essential along with a firearm
