Another great one...

Huey Lewis And The News - Do You Believe In Love

My favorite version of this is Chrissie Hynde's, but I can't find it on youtube:

A little something for later ;)

and now for something completely different, Dutch music from years and years ago, translation is below:

ABEL Onderweg - Along the way

Ik doe de deur dicht - I close the door
straten lijken te huilen - the streets seem to cry
wolken lijken te vluchten - the clouds seem to flee

Ik stap de bus in - I get on the bus
mensen lijken te kijken - people seem to stare
maar ik wil ze ontwijken - but I want to avoid their glance
voordat ze mij zien - before they see me

Het is allang verleden tijd - It's been a long while
dat je mijn verjaardag niet vergat - since you didn't forget my birthday
je onvoorwaardelijk koos voor mij - since you chose for me, unconditionally

Ik zie de velden - I see the grasslands
langs mij heen gaan huizen - houses pass next to me
het is stil achter de ruiten - it's quiet behind the windows
je kan mij zien - you can see me

In blauw verlichte treinen - in blue-lighted trains
je hart is zo dicht bij me - your heart is so close to me
maar het klopt niet - but it doesn't beat

Het is allang verleden tijd - It's been a long while
je zwarte haren en je lach - your black hair and your smile
dat je hele wereld voor mij was - since you were my whole world
het zit nog veel te diep in mij - I still can feel it way too deep

dat ik mocht delen wat jij had - that I could share all that you had
je door mijn haren ging en zei: - that you moved through my hair and said:

je kent mijn stem niet - you don't know my voice
wie ik ben is wat je nu ziet - who I am is what you see now
wil je dansen met illusies, in gedachten - do you want to dance with illusions, in your thoughts

ben je verder dan het heden - are you beyond the present
wil je terug naar je verleden - are you willing to go back to your past
zegt je dat iets - does that make sense for you

Het is allang verleden tijd - It's been a long while
rode wijn op het terras - red wine on the terrace
dat je hele wereld voor mij was - since you were my whole world
je zit veel te diep in mij - you're too deep inside me

Maar ik vergat *** jij me zag - But i forgot how you saw me
dat ik zo anders ben dan jij - that I'm so different than you

Ik loop de straat in - I walk on the street
maar het zal me nooit verwarmen - but it will never warm me
omdat het mij niet kan omarmen - because it cannot embrace me
wie zou mij zien - who should see me

Het liefst zou ik willen schreeuwen - I wish I could shout out
ik zou oneindig willen schreeuwen - I would shout out endlessly
maar het gaat niet - but I can't

Jij bent niet alleen van mij - You are not mine only
kan de wereld laten zien - could the world give a sign
dat het zo beter is misschien - that it's better like this, maybe
het is allang verleden tijd - It's been a long while

Dat ik vergat *** jij me zag - since I forgot how you saw me
en ik zo anders ben dan jij - and I'm so different than you

a little fusion music, Spanish and Dutch when Mexican music greats Los Lobos played with Limburgs pride Rowwen Heze

The songtitle is Anselma/Bestel maar

This one is much easier, it is dutch band Kane, with one of the Netherlands most famous actrices (Carice van Houten, game of thrones, and much more) during a live telecast to bring in money after the big disaster in Haiti

The singer of this song is the lead singer of Kane, in English the song is called "dreamer" but also known as Guusjes song.

It is a memorial to Guusje Nederhorst, his wife who died in 2004 at the young age of 35 from cancer. At the end of the song you can hear them being married in Las Vegas Nevada. Guusje was a famous dutch actrice who as said died way too soon from that terrible disease cancer.

For all of you who want to step back to the 1930s with me and Brian Ferry.....walk this way...

"These Foolish Things" (Remind me of you)

In Dutch, from the Netherlands biggest selling male artist Marco Borsato, the song was recorded for warchild

Through shot up streets
Without a father, without country
You walk desperately lonely
Holding your mother's warm hand

Like a sheep surrounded by wolves
your destiny unknown
And no one sees how small you are
No one sees how small you are

Tomorrow there will be peace
The sun will caress your face
The world will be a play ground
And you can play

After winter comes spring
The gray sky turns to blue again
Even if you're out of the war
Will the war ever be out of you?

Beautiful eyes are poisoned
Are used to violence
And no one sees how small you are

© Marco Borsato

A counter to Peter King's Los Lobos, Tito and Tarantula featuring a nice (I mean nice) dance by Salma Hayak:

Roxy Music influenced a lot of bands. I like:

Another blast from the past, the golden earring with when the lady smiles

For the people who have only been subjected to Madonna's version of the song, this is how it should actually sound

same story, the way Don't cry for me Argentina IMHO should sound, not the way Madonna performed. From the original cast in 1976 it is performed by Julie Covington in a way I think has never been equalled

Some more wonderful vintage Rod? this time with Dolly WOW!:mrgreen: baby it's coooooooooooooooold ouuuuuuuuutside! :2razz:
