Just chill'n here at work doing some work and listening to Roger Waters

This after playing out the whole Echos CD earlier in the day.

generally I avoid country music like the plague and listen to stations 21-34 on sirius (garage, grateful dead, folk) but one of them had Johnny and June CC singing this duet today. I figured-if Joe Strummer liked the "man in black" so can I (even though social distortion's cover of Ring of Fire is better IMHO)

I don't like country music at ALL. I think pretty much most of it is horrible. That's just my opinion though.

Yeah I tried to buy one of those bumper stickers that said

Stop incest-ban country music

but Johnny has done some good things

LIKE COVER Bob Marley with the late great GOD of PUNK/World beat Joe Strummer

Meh, I'm not a big Johnny Cash fan either. I usually like ROCKING music, you know? I would probably not sit and listen to either Bob Marley or Johnny Cash ever.

well as someone noted, the clash was about all that rocked in the early 80s

and they sure did! (even without Nicky on drums)

I disagree. There were SOME good bands in the 80s. There was Van Halen, AC/DC, among others that I can't think of right now. Sure, they were no LZ or Jimi Hendrix, but they were a heck of a lot better than a lot of the other stuff from that time period.

I liked the Clash too though. :) I think I was like 5 or 6 years old when they came out with that song "Rock the Casbah." One of the songs that I always think of when I think of the Clash.

this one has the "human drum machine" at his best
