I'm curious given the paucity of policy discussion in the GOP, and particularly the challenges of finding qualified and credible people to administer such.

By the time he left DC in 2021, I think it entirely fair to suggest that Trump had managed to alienate not only members of his own cabinet but entire departments like Justice, Defense, Intelligence, Law Enforcement, the CDC, as well as the Federal Reserve.

He finished his term with Larry Kudlow as his Chief Economic Advisor. Larry is an amiable jester, but he's no economist (though he played one at Bear Stearns). Neither of his chief WH advisors appear eager to associate with him.

He can't boast of his mangerial acumen after testifying to an apparent ignorance of the details of his own craft and business. His role as Chief Law Enforcement Officer would be compromised by his substantial record of felony indictments.

What does the second chapter look like?

So what? Those Agencies and Departments were rife with corruption, influence peddling, and other flaws. Spring cleaning is necessary IMO.

The reason for this is that he was not a politician. So aside from a few minor business area contacts, he never was involved in the political swamp of favors and power struggles. In fact this was why many people voted for him. Little realizing that it would awaken the venomous ire of the Administrative State.

LOL! His own businesses were and are doing fine. As for "felony indictments?" Only someone blind to the insidious use of law-fare (using the law to destroy someone) would assert the criminal charges and civil actions in play have any merit at all. Banana Republic tactics...look it up.

What does the second chapter look like?

1. Reduction of the Administrative State. That means appointing qualified persons to the chief positions with instructions to cut staffing and set up more in-depth evaluations of remaining appointed staff to ensure the focus is on minimizing regulations and better enforcement of those regulations remaining.

2. Secure the border. Work with Congress to get funding for the kind of border barriers which not only inhibit illegal entry but also increase monitoring and detection of efforts to bypass the barriers. Renew the Mexico deal requiring "remain in Mexico" pending application and processing for those "walking" to the border. Combat criminal smuggling and other enterprises.

3. Expel illegal migrants. Locate, detain, and expel any and all illegal migrants, including those who have so-called "anchor babies" by mass relocation to the nation of original citizenship. I would allow for processing of any valid applicants based on immigration rules.

4. Develop America's natural resources. This includes oil production (locating, drilling, transporting, processing), mining for ores especially strategic minerals, logging, fishing, etc..

5. Improve National Infrastructure: Improve/build roads, railways, water routes, bridges, dams, water purification plants, and pollution processing/disposal plants, power plants.

6. America First Economy: Compete with China for production at home to help return and increase decent paying jobs. Use economic policy methods to encourage "buy American" here, while also offering cheaper goods to foreign markets. This would include both tariffs and tax incentives to build and manufacture at home.

7. Strengthen the Military: Return to the pre-Woke American model military: moderate-sized, volunteer-based (backed by draft in wartime); highly trained, basic mental and physical fitness required of all personnel...and no WOKE nonsense. (no "Trans" soldiers (i.e. enlistees with mental health issues), proper roles suited to women which do not inhibit proper male roles, discipline, physical fitness, and tough training requirement. Finally enforce military discipline.

8. Fight Inflation: Pay off as much as possible of the national debt. Then ensure monetary policy which decreases the amount of money in circulation thereby returning the value to money that exists.

The alternative looks like Joe Biden and that's just not tolerable. He's been terrible for the nation and the world. Look at all the issues under Joe's term.

You left out using the government to go after political foes, insultingly various ethnic groups, allowing torture, killing the babies and other family members of suspected terrorists, enriching himself in various ways, and seeking to break his record number of lies from his first term. But just for laughs I would look forward to another “infrastructure week.”

Eh Trump cant win the Dems will just fix the vote so you don't have to worry if Trump can get elected. The Dems have already Fixed everything. Just ask any republican they will tell ya.

imho This is an excellent post concerning the subject of this thread. Thanks

Overlooking, for the moment, whether or not this idea has merit - what reason does anyone have to believe that Trump can identify such people?

Its funny that the idiot left can roast weenies while sitting in the dumpster fire their rat god has created and still whine about Trump.

Specifically?
Problem is that one person’s terrible is another’s desirable: one may not like lower insulin and other drug prices; if one does not believe the consensus on climate change the accomplishments in the past few years don’t, ditto with vets benefits if you’re not a vet, less inflation than in other countries, low unemployment, etc.

You're being far too polite.

These are innumerate rubes rebleating what they are told to believe by people paid to confirm their ignorance.

Specifically?
Seriously...pick ANYTHING he has touched. His administration completely ****ed up every amount of progress and gain that was made on the southern border. 8 million illegals are flooding cities so badly that even the rat politicians are crying about illegal immigration. The green energy bullshit is a trainwreck with several windfarms and businesses collapsing whole at the same time he has done everything he can to make us fossil fuel dependent on people that hate us. Inflation is ridiculously high, food prices are out if site, gas prices only recently started coming down. Dood is a ****ing cypher when it comes to leadership. He ****ed up the Afghanistan withdrawal and his impotence on the foreign stage contributed both to the Ukraine invasion and the Iran involvement in the Hamas terrorist attack. The job markets are weaker than predicted, labor costs are driving prices up and killing businesses...

Maybe you would be better served to try to find out anything that he has done that is positive.

His polling data even amongst democrats amonts to "Well...he isnt Trump"..........

I agree with all of this!

What I hope for are exactly the kinds of things Trump was good at the first time. But this time, he won't have the non-politician learning curve he had in 2016. He's much more aware of who and what to avoid. He was far too trusting of some people ingrained in government, the first time. If he wins, I hope he engages his great instincts in recognizing who else cares about the good of the country and who doesn't. There is a lot of clean up needed.

I hope and dream that one day Progressives (the majority of which are good intentioned people) wake up and pull their heads out of their asses.

I like to dream BIG!

How many jobs per month was the economy generating BEFORE Covid under Biden's predecessor?

Trump argued that, by not recording a single calendar year of 3% GDP growth, Obama's economy was a failure....How many years did Trump hit that mark?

Overlooking, for the moment, whether or not this idea has merit - what reason does anyone have to believe that Trump can identify such people?

1. Current experience (both good and bad) as a past President, which should give him a better shot at either those who were in federal service and competent in his support, and those outside he thinks would be a good replacement.

If Biden could appoint a person like "Rachel" Levine as Asst. Secretary of Health, I am sure Trump could do no worse the second time around.

Now I am not going to answer every one of your responses in a separate post. Next time simply cite and then respond in one post.

2. Trump did not have a "supine Congress," not during his first two years when he did control both Houses. This because only the Tea Party remnants backed him in the House. The rest saw him as an outsider. As for the Senate, he had several disgruntled competitors from that Senate in the Republican Primaries, who continued to resent his winning and were no help at all. That lost him the House in 2018 and only THEN did the Senate Republicans wake up to their mistake.

3. WE are going to pay for it via the use of our already staffed and on the payroll Federal Law Enforcement Agencies. We have the FBI, ATF, Criminal Division of the DOJ, DEA (available to combat the Mexican Cartels who also use the drug smuggling methods to smuggle in migrants), U.S. Marshalls. Finally, the Executive Office of Immigration Review who can vet the deportations. The various border State law enforcement agencies can assist with authorization of their respective Governors.

4. Feds have the licensing power to allow for mining rights, oil drilling rights, land exploitation rights, etc. That will allow American companies to develop the pipelines, mines, delivery systems etc.

5. Not well enough. We need roads, bridges, etc.

6. Not "central planning," working with various businesses to support opportunities to develop and exploit the resources and provide good jobs in doing so.

7. What do you know about the military? Likely what those political officers who make up the head of the various military branches think, am I right? Let me point something out to you. The officer ranks up to Colonel are handled by the personnel and General Command groups. But the Generals have to be approved by the Senate. The moment an officer makes Full Colonel, he has to become "political" in order to compete for his first and further General's stars. That's why you see all those Generals testifying in Congress sucking up to all the woke B.S. I guarantee you that when Trump was in office they acted differently, because HE was the CIC.

That's all. Be off with you.

As a non Trump voter, my hope and dream is that we have a leader who knows the leader of North Korea isn't the leader of China, the leader of Hungary isn't the leader of Turkey, and also knows the nations that border whatever nation they're referencing in order to not sound like an absolute idiot. Hopefully there's a 6th grade level geography course the GOP front runner can take to avoid looking so abjectly daft.
