(WGN News) Man shot, killed by ICE in Franklin Park ID’d; agent severely injured
--
A fatal incident arose Friday, in what has otherwise been relatively uneventful ICE activity in Chicago.
During an ICE traffic stop in a Chicago suburb, ICE is reporting a Franklin Park IL man "dragged" an ICE agent with his car, the agent was "severely" injured, subsequently using deadly force upon the individual.
I added quotation marks above, as there seems to be possible incongruity in the story. ICE is refusing to release their video footage, and local news is reporting the purportedly severely injured ICE agent was not long after released from the hospital.
In addition, publicly obtained video only displays one of the two involved ICE agents attempting to enter the deceased's vehicle on the passenger side, but does not display images of the driver's side where the activities involved in the killing took place.
It's also worth noting the victim's girlfriend was a passenger in the car during the incident.

--ICE stated that they were conducting law enforcement activity in the 9800 block of Grand Avenue and subsequently conducted a vehicle stop. A man resisted and attempted to drive his vehicle into the arresting team, according to ICE.
The agent was dragged, according to ICE.
The agent discharged his firearm and struck the man driving. Both the man and the agent were transported to a local hospital.
The man, identified by the Department of Homeland Security as Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez, was pronounced dead at the hospital, and the agent was stabilized but suffered severe injuries, according to ICE.
