West Point moves to vanquish Confederate symbols from campus

You breaking down in floods of tears because you can’t bear to face the fact that no, in fact, the Ottoman Empire does not consist “a large part of the world” likewise doesn’t change the fact that not a country in the world recognized a regime based entirely on protecting slavery— namely, the CSA— as being legitimate
As I've said before, non-recognition does not translate into moral revulsion. Especially when Russian gunboats are part of the equation, which I'm sure you've tried to forget.

Preventing expansion meant that the South would lose power in Congress. That's independent of your theories about the necessity to expand the "system."
Oh shit.

I think that you might be understanding politics from the first half of the 1800’s

Coming from the guy who gets his “history” from Stormfront that’s a ****ing joke 😂
Another made-up narrative; anyone who disagrees with you hates Jews. Your Kremlin Brothers were no friends to Jewry either, but of course you like to forget that too.

More frantic Lost Causer cowering, desperate to avoid facing the fact that Europe rejected your slaver heroes entirely.

You crying about the Europeans “exploiting the third world” while defending slavery is hilarious btw.
You're the one who's claiming the Europeans all became saints because the Brits got queasy about slaves. The truth is they just didn't like seeing exploitation up close.

Nope, it was the Slaver South which betrayed the North by waging war on the US to save slavery.
Nope, Lincoln was the Traitor Supreme, and proved it when he also betrayed his own side, as with his treatment of supposedly disloyal states.

The Tariffs had been reduced by Southern Democrats over the years, and then the new Republican Party plotted to raise them again. Thirty years is not too long for people to remember being socked with taxes that aren't ever used to improve conditions in your own states. Take a look at the course of the Transcontinental Railway some time. Doesn't even come close to the South.
The fight for the route of the transcontinental railway was part of the led up to the Civil war… but all in all it was minor thing… it wasn’t completed until years after the war.

The US government had no absolutely no obligation to surrender US forts to your slaver heroes.

None.
Secession means the state is sovereign, so it can dissolve compacts as it pleases.

As usual, you like tyranny if it suits your narrative.

So you admit those Southern Officers who attended West Point where traitors?

It's a step in the right direction.
I'm stating that your judgment on what constitutes a traitor is faulty.

So what? Try to imagine you're a Southerner who paid high taxes until about 1857, and you find out where the Railway is planned to run. Tell me you just shrug that off with a smile and a shrug.

Even Lady Antebellum knew to change their name and its connotations so it's past time the USMA does the same.

Not just slavery, but power and prosperity in general. You Libs insist on making these decisions into so many Red Skull moments, where your supposed villains are wringing their hands together for sheer joy in their villainy. It's boring.

“Power and prosperity” based on the toil of slaves. The rest is just a bunch of strawman lies.

And the North fed off the prosperity produced by the slave system. That's why few if any Northern politicians advocated getting rid of slavery in established states, as indeed was Lincoln's attitude. It was making money for them too.

Then why did the South insist on war when they knew that the North had the industrial machinery to manufacture the armament needed. Pretty damn stupid, wasn’t it?

Saving the Union was and is the most important historical event in the history of the United States.
I equate Confederates and Nazis in the same mold, not much difference.

Except the Germans have seen the error of there ways. Southerners, some still hanker for 1860.

I was in the military with some Southerners, boy do they like to revise history.

Been there

done that
