On the Sunday FOX show they had some lady on defending Obamacare and I learned something new. I thought the difference between the plans were just things like the deductible and how good the coverage was but apparently the network of docs that will even see you is effected too. The silver plan vastly limits this and I might have to drive a hundred miles to go to the doc. Now I will probably have to go to platinum to be able to see a doc in my small town. Just another hidden cost in this so called affordable health care BS.
Call your regular doctor and ask them. Don't assume one way or the other if that is a concern for you.

The strange question will be,That's because you were watching Fox News. On MSNBC you can pick your local doctor and he'll make house calls on the Silver Plan.
Do what i'm going to do, don't get insurance. Pay the fine.
I tried that and his office manager said she really didn't know where they were on this yet. They are still waiting for some classification clarification. Everybody is in limbo on this thing.
I'm old, I can't risk that and I need regular checkups. When you are old you need to keep an eye on things like your prostate, blood pressure, cholesterol and then there is that wonderful colon thing for the icing on the cake.

You can afford the check-ups, only buy insurance when you know that you need expensive treatment.
The list of in-network doctors has nothing to do with what news media network is reporting what they perceive to be the details. It has to do with the details of the plan and the region (zipcode) being serviced.
So you can bad-mouth Fox and/or MSNBC all you want. Get the facts of the plan first, then throw your stones.

I ran my numbers through the exchange website a couple weeks ago just for ****s and giggles (I have healthcare provided by my employer and won't actually be using any of the ACA plans, but I was curious what the prices were).
For my family of four, and taking into consideration that we don't qualify for any kind of tax credit subsidy, the yearly premium for a platinum plan was about $8000.
As it happens, that's actually more than I pay for my employer-provided healthcare, but we all understand that my employer pays at least the same, if not more, toward my coverage.
Anyhow, $700 a month for health insurance isn't any kind of a bargain, as far as I'm concerned.
It may be a better rate that a consumer would previously have had to pay for the same kind of coverage, so I suppose there's some benefit there.
But I don't really think this legislation was actually designed with folks who are buying "platinum" level coverage in mind so I'd be surprised to see that the rates for such coverage are dropping significantly.
This is probably TMI but last time I had my colon looked at it was full of polyps so I need that procedure on a regular basis and it is extremely expensive.

What a fun guy you are!
I fart in your general direction. :fart

Hospitals and doctors will have to compete on price
Every major insurer has conducted substantial market research into consumers’ attitudes about shopping for coverage. And consistently, what insurers find is that consumers’ highest priority is price. Just as most travelers shop for airline tickets based on price, rather than the brand or the in-flight amenities, most exchange participants will shop on the basis of premiums.
So insurers will compete to offer the lowest price, by contracting with the doctors and hospitals who charge them the lowest fees for treating you. “The networks will be narrower than the networks typically offered to large groups of employees in the commercial market,” said a spokesman for Cigna.
This is, in general, a good thing. Unlike government-imposed price controls, these contracts are voluntary. If doctors don’t like the fees that insurers are talking about, they don’t have to participate. If insurers think doctors are asking too much, they can take their business elsewhere. This is the essence of market-based transactions.
The strange thing is that more limited networks are a cost control mechanism--the thing Obamacare supposedly doesn't have or encourage.
Here's the anti-Obamacare Avik Roy writing in Forbes: Yes, Obamacare's Exchanges Will Narrow Your Choice Of Doctors -- And That's A Good Thing
So what we have here is yet another caveat to Obama's statement. "You like your doctor you can keep him" IF that is you purchase the platinum plan that is.

This is so NOT true. If you have a BlueCross BlueShield Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum plan and your doctor accepts BlueCross BlueShield they will accept any of those plans as well. This silly fear-mongering is so going to backfire on all of you Republicans very quickly now that the website is working.
As you say, you might have to.
