On May 16th, 2021, about a dozen "Back The Blue" cultists rallied in the wild, so Michael decided to show his unquestioning support for the police by showing up with a sign that read, "We deepthroat the whole boot!" The event organizer, Adam, complained to the police that he was not a part of their group and that he was interfering with their rally. Michael emphatically told the officers that he was there to support the police. "If you don't deepthroat the whole boot, then you don't support the police," he exclaimed. Nonetheless, the police arrested one their own supporters for causing "undue annoyance," under the breach of peace statute, and set his bail to a $1,000 non-surety bond. It wasn't clear why, after four court dates, the state decided to drop the charge against Michael, but perhaps they realized that they had gotten it wrong, that he is a police supporter after all and they dropped the charges to let him continue his good work. "The police were just doing their job," Michael said in a statement. "I'm just glad I can get back to deepthroating the whole boot again." /Satire/

He sure does enjoy this type of activity!

Disclosure: I am not a lawyer, but as an activist, I have dealt with many of these issues in both criminal and civil cases.

He's wearing a shirt that says professional douche.

You'll forgive me, then, if I don't watch the video.

Gotta love freedom of speech.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

No why was he arrested?

Supposedly, "causing "undue annoyance," under the breach of peace statute". Since the prosecutors dropped the case before it went to trial, I'd say that even the prosecutors knew it wouldn't work.

I don't know about you, but I view this site as entertainment. Even if I could somehow make you watch a video...I wouldn't.

Your choice to even open the thread, make relevant comments, or not.

Prosecuters drop charges all the time.

I have had charges dropped in my case when they were in fact warranted.

Freedom of speech can be annoying to people. In fact, that is the speech that is specifically protected. Flowery, pretty speech needs no protection.

The cops were clearly wrong and dicks to arrest him.

Another video that might put what this guy did into context.

Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing.

Do not confuse freedom of speech with freedom to be a dick flute.

And a peaceful resolution was available but rejected by the dick flute. The dick flute was there to antagonize. You can see it clearly.

Even if he was, that's STILL protected. It is not illegal, nor should it be, to peacefully hold a sign that is contrary to the message of those around you are advocating.

I find it ironic that you call yourself a "libertarian".

Freedom to Agitate.... Got it.

That is EXACTLY what he was there to do.

So, you think that people shouldn't carry guns if they agitate people?

Non sequitur post.

Er...no. As I said, your rights are not trumped by people's feelings. This is true of the 1st Amendment as well as the 2nd.

Freedom to Agitate noted.
Yes.

If people are free to agitate my wife for going to planned parenthood, REGARDLESS of what she was there for...

Then why not free to agitate others?
