For Democrats only. I sincerely would like to know your honest opinions of this pick.

Conservatives, please don't vote, but if you feel like commenting, that's fine.

Democrats, please give honest answers. This is your ticket.

I may comment later but it's not my ticket, so my opinion really doesn't count.

Tim Walz is a great governor...one of the best governors in America. I love what he's done with housing reform, permitting reform, and the child tax credit. Walz also comes across really likable when I've seen him on TV in recent weeks.

I would have preferred Josh Shapiro since he's from one of the most important swing states, but Walz seems good too.

He's been my pick for a few weeks now. He's a likable down home ordinary mid-western guy. He funny and to the point. Has a great record as governor. He aligns with my ideology near 100%. A great pick.

He's also the inventor of 'Republicans Weird'. He's hilarious.

Unfortunately I don’t know anything about him so I’ll be playing catchup this week. I have to think that the Harris campaign was smart in their vetting process since they’ve been kicking ass in every other part of the campaign.

Do you realize how many times you have voted in a poll that says it's only for left-leaners or Biden voters or Harris voters? Just wondering.

He’s from a state famous for its small soft drinks. lol

I think he’s a good choice. I was expecting Shapiro, but I can see Harris’s reasoning in the choice she made and in leaving Shapiro as a surrogate in PA vs. putting him on the ticket. I suspect he will get a Cabinet position when she’s elected.

Walz will hold an appeal to the folks that really wish Biden was still the candidate - has the same “vibe” as a younger and more vibrant Biden did. That folksy “he seems genuinely nice” vibe. Small town Americana-esque but not going to take anyone’s shit.

Solid liberal record - with a feather in the cap of women’s rights and feeding school children

Brings the gravitas of a long history of military service to the ticket.

Gun owner/hunting/shooting background - but also articulate about the need for solid common sense gun laws to keep communities safe

I look forward to seeing more of him and hearing more from him.

I like Walz. I think if Harris is going to be sitting in the oval office, listening to her VP's advice on an important issue , Walz is exactly the sort of level headed pragmatic empathetic voice I think she needs to hear from. Its a mature voice, a persuasive voice and I think its one she can count on to lobby for her on Capital Hill.

Tim Walz was a fantastic choice! Man has been an incredible governor, to say the least.

The Harris campaign is ****ing  cooking. 👏

I'm honestly kinda losing my mind rn. I never thought this Harris switch would bring such positivity and drive. It's great to see! We gotta keep it going! 👍🏼

Wikipedia:
Timothy James Walz (/wɔːlz/ WAWLZ; born April 6, 1964) is an American politician, former U.S. Army non-commissioned officer, and retired educator who has served as the 41st governor of Minnesota since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he is its presumptive nominee for vice president in the 2024 United States presidential election. He was a member of the United States House of Representatives from 2007 to 2019, representing Minnesota's 1st congressional district.

Born in West Point, Nebraska, Walz joined the Army National Guard and worked in agriculture, manufacturing, and teaching after high school. He later graduated from Chadron State College in Nebraska before moving to Minnesota in 1996. Before running for Congress, he worked as a social studies teacher and football coach in the Mankato school district. He was elected to the United States House of Representatives for Minnesota's 1st congressional district in 2006, defeating six-term Republican incumbent Gil Gutknecht. He was reelected five times, retiring in 2019 after being elected governor. Walz represented a large, mostly rural section of southern Minnesota situated along the border with Iowa.

Walz was elected governor of Minnesota on November 6, 2018, defeating the Republican nominee, Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson. He was reelected in the 2022 Minnesota gubernatorial election, defeating Republican nominee Scott Jensen.

I absolutely love the decision to choose Tim Walz. From the first time I heard him speak, he had my support. He served in the National Guard for 25 years. He's 'small town' midwest America. As someone said, 'He's the guy that J.D. Vance is trying to pretend to be.' Tim Walz is not 'the elite' at all. He's very relatable to every day people

Tim Walz has signed a law guaranteeing free breakfast and lunch for all students in the state, regardless of how much money their parents make. Tens of thousands of food-insecure kids will benefit.

If it weren't for Tim Walz being Governor of Minnesota, there would have been no prosecution for the murder of George Floyd. He took that case out of the county prosecutor's hands and put it into the hands of the Minnesota Attorney General because Tim Walz personally cared about that family and wanted justice for his murder. Tim Walz has a long history of being connected to civil rights causes. He appointed the first black woman to the Minnesota Supreme Court. Best yet, he coined the word 'weird' in reference to MAGA. "They're running for 'he-man woman haters club' or something."

Among other things, these are some reasons why I love Tim Walz

You asked the question, i voted. Next time make clear who you want to vote in your question.

Example:

Democrats, was Walz a good pick for VPOTUS Harris?

Please explain had no place in the poll question. That should have been left for the opening post.

Me? None as being a serious vote. I have a few to see results. Why? Are you angry about it?

I purposely made it so voting was not a prerequisite for viewing results.

I am on the fence on whether he is a good or bad pick, but I would be on that fence for any pick.

Once the reactions come out, I will come to a conclusion.
I'll answer your call for responses to Walz being chosen for Harris VP. Here is his bungling response to the BLM riots. He failed to protect Minneapolis from the violent Leftist thugs looting and burning the city. But, he displayed the essential Biden/Harris ability, blame shifting and appeasement of radical Leftist thugs.

"A day after one of the most destructive and violent nights in Minneapolis history, Gov. Tim Walz and the mayors of the state's two largest cities faced mounting criticism, with the governor calling the city's response an "abject failure."

As Walz vowed to restore order heading into the weekend, he acknowledged shortcomings in the response to protests late Thursday night and early Friday, which led to the evacuation and destruction of the city's Third Precinct headquarters, as well as widespread looting and arson fires that set the city ablaze.

Officials hoped that murder and manslaughter charges brought Friday against Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin in connection with Floyd's death might help calm tensions. "

Oh but wait, Walz is a card carrying teachers union member a critical Democrat constituency. Say goodbye to parents having any say in what their children are taught.

I thought is was a state known for mosquitos that are the size of F16's. What has he done about that problem anyway? I fear the Republicans will wage a campaign against him for allowing those mosquitos to cross our Canadian border, unchallenged, and steal our precious bodily fluids. I fear a second front on the border issue.

The ones I've seen, you didn't need to vote to see the results. I saw the results without voting. And, no, I'm not angry about it. LOL! I just find it interesting that you want people to refrain from doing something that you have no problem doing.
