That is not a leftist telling you that tariffs will be paid for by consumers, the Waltons are about as far right as you can get. They are just warning their patrons that prices will rise and it is the tariffs that will cause the increase. Walmart cannot sell at a loss and stay in business.

Trump had over 500 business ventures and six of them failed. That's not a record of failure that's extreme success.

During his first administration Trump had the same type of tariffs and no inflation.
 
What you just wrote is about as unAMerican as anyone can get. Dems are just as American as any GOP and even MAGAS. If you cannot see that, then take a civics class.

Yes he's had over 500 business ventures and six of them went bankrupt. That's not failure that's around a 90% success rate.

Do you know how many casinos have gone bankrupt in the United States? It's in the hundreds. You need to get out more.

Amazing what one tweet at 2am in the morning woke up everyone. What is going to occur will be sorted out as the negotiations begin. What is the value to US? Well, how much do you value the lives of Americans that are robbed, raped and killed by these people that enter our country illegally? If this hasn't touched your life I am happy for you. Put yourself in some else's shoes that it has or go talk to someone that it has.

Joe Biden kept the tariffs on Chinese semi-conductors and chips to prevent Beijing from dominating that market which is critical to US industry and national defense.

And Biden does not have anything even remotely approaching Trumps promised 200%-400% tarriffs on Chinese goods.

Prices on most items will be higher under Trump. Importers/retailers aren't going to suffer tariff tax losses, they will be passed onto American consumers.

I don't know why this is so hard for people to understand: consumers absolutely pay for the tariff. The tariff is paid on goods coming into the country, not by the seller, but by the purchasers, who can opt to eat their profit margins, but capitalism being what it is, typically choose to pass at least some of that onto the consumer (i.e., you). The fun doesn't end there. Countries can themselves impose retaliatory tariffs if they believe that they are being tariffed unreasonably or excessively.

That being said, it's important to realize that Trump/MAGA are using tariffs for other ends. Trump is using tariffs to force Mexico's hand on the border and he also wants to end the practice of Mexico being a subterfuge for Chinese-made goods that end up skirting US tariffs. He also wants to put pressure on Mexico to do something about the drug trade (Mexico may want the US to do something about the flow of weapons coming into the country). These are not entirely unreasonable asks, IMHO. I think Biden honestly missed opportunities (or realized them too late) to put more pressure on Mexico to these ends.

I can understand MAGA being so stupid that they would hurt themselves but why wouldn't they take the time to learn to at least not hurt their own children?
