Billy Ray Ferry killed 5 with a small amount of gas and they are just as dead as if he had used the latest and greatest firearm.

The AR is selected alot because of its hi capacity and mild recoil. It is not the best choice for actually taking life. Often dozens or even hundreds or rounds are fired with few deaths. This because most shooters replace marksmanship with volume. Even our military developed that cartridge to wound as opposed to kill. The idea was that you take more soldiers off the battlefield with wounded vs dead.

Even with the mass high profile shootings, hammers and other blunt force weapons kill more people than rifles ALL RIFLES!

Lastly just for education purposes for you guys that don't have experience with firearms.......not knocking you all just letting you know........a revolver with minimal practice can be reloaded in less than 3 seconds. Using speed loaders or full moon clips it is easy.

I recently shot an action pistol match with a revolver. These matches are set up to favor high capacity semi auto handguns. Its what most folks use including myself normally. I used an 8 shot smith and Wesson revolver. I finished about half way down the field meaning I easily beat half the field. The point of sharing this is to show that just because you ban high cap mags or even all semi auto firearms the ability to keep a revolver fed is only a fractions of a second different.

Its not the AR or even the gun. Its the crazy person!

I used fire and Billy Ferry because it was so simple, cheap, and unstoppable. He was upset that the cashier at the winn Dixie rejected him. He got a small pal of gasoline and splashed it on the cashier and 3 customers. He tossed a zippo lighter at her and everyone caught fire.

Gun owners aren’t blamed for mass shootings. The loose laws are. If gun owners support no change to those laws, I guess that makes them complicit in preventable killings but, in a secondary way. Gun owners however are desperate to deflect to the mentally ill when a mass shooting happens because they are unwilling to address the guns part of the gun violence problem.

What more do you want in terms of gun laws? We have background checks, waiting periods, and the misuse of the firearm is already illegal. Murder illegal.

At some point you have to realize that the laws are already on the books to address everything. You just can't address someone going nuts without hurting the law abiding.

The best way to protect yourself is to PROTECT yourself. Carry a defensive firearm. Develope shooting skills and tactics. Take care of yourself and perhaps in doing that you help your fellow Americans.

Any gun law where a person trying to acquire a gun or carrying one can be apprehended on the spot would stop most mass shootings.

Any gun law arresting a person carrying or acquiring a gun is unconstitutional and equals a total gun ban. Since the murderer is willing to break the most severe law the lesser gun law is nothing to break.

I'm an FFL and I see a change. A big change! People are waking up and arming up. Training classes been booked for more than half a year. No end in sight.

I could fill advanced tactical training classes for months if I still ran them.

I am doing what I can but sadly all too often other people don't. I get good training with guns and I keep my skills honed but unfortunately the vast majority of gun owners don't do that. Too many people think that just because they've got a gun that they can take care of themselves. There's more to it than that. Using a gun effectively requires skill, skill that must be learned and practiced.

I also vote and I send letters to the US Congress urging them to allow good people to be armed and to allow good people to not only own guns but to carry them too.

Laws don't work. The murderer is about to violate the strictest most heavily punished law. No lesser law will work.

What does work is great situational awareness and the ability to put holes in the badguy before he does it to you! Tactics increase your effectiveness and decrease your opponents effectiveness. Almost anyone can do it with ease. I'm not special. No John Wick! I am however extremely capable of armed self defense. No guarantees of course but a very good chance of success which equals survival.
