Waking up to another Mass Shooting

do everything you can (as so many others have).

the slaughters will continue.
I am doing what I can but sadly all too often other people don't. I get good training with guns and I keep my skills honed but unfortunately the vast majority of gun owners don't do that. Too many people think that just because they've got a gun that they can take care of themselves. There's more to it than that. Using a gun effectively requires skill, skill that must be learned and practiced.

I also vote and I send letters to the US Congress urging them to allow good people to be armed and to allow good people to not only own guns but to carry them too.

i'm sure millions of others have done the same.

it's not working.

Nope, nowhere near millions. I would say as much as 90 percent of the gun community does not receive adequate training with firearms and this includes many people who make a living using guns such as police officers and soldiers.

then jump on it and solve the problem of mass shootings.

Im doing what I can but I can't be a hero all the time.
look, nothing is going to change. and more Americans, like these 4 recent victims, will continue to be gunned down.

In Canada's entire history we've had seven mass shootings. The US had 614 in 2020 alone.
The US has 39 times as many blacks than Canada.
The US had 35 times as many gun homicides as Canada in 2019.

Too many Damn guns!

Like back in the day when you could just buy a gun at your local Hardware store?

Or through a News paper add?
Old friend of mine use to take his shotgun to school with him lol.

another one of the people who were gunned down...

Matthew R Alexander, age 32

another victim...

The news this morning was announced as "it's been three weeks since the last mass shooting". Every other developed country goes decades between mass shootings, most don't have them at all.
The other developed countries that have fewer mass shootings have MORE mass knife and vehicle murders.

So I guess thats proof that when you remove the gun you still have the psycho killer.

“I saw a man with a submachine gun of some sort, an automatic rifle, and he was firing in the open. I immediately ducked down and got scared,” Jeremiah Miller told the station.
"Some guy" likely in terror? Per his own description of himself.

OK. Tell me, did you believe him? Or did you question it? I know you dont believe women should have any opinions on this stuff...but I immediately, based on my own (female  ) knowledge of guns, questioned it and pretty much dismissed it, thinking something more concrete would come from the authorities.

The gunman used a full automatic, full automatics already are illegal, just goes to show that gun control doesn't work.
Er, what it shows is that the singular witness that made a statement probably had no idea what he was talking about AND was terrified and shocked at the time.

Again...are you really assuming he made an accurate identification of the firearm he saw?

Sources for the bold?

Sources?

Also, please tell me what 'training' does to prevent gun crimes?

Nope, they have fewer murders in total. And it's not a few less murders, it's substantially less. Canada has about a third of the murders the US has, the UK has one-forth, Sweden Denmark etc have one-fifth.

There are countries with mostly Black populations that have few murders than the US, so you can't blame Blacks.

Canada doesn't have any black ghettos. That's where most of the gun homicides in America take place. They don't have a Houston, a Chicago, a Newark, a Baltimore, a DC, a Detroit, or an Atlanta.

False! Of course they do. In Vancouver, Alberta, Winnipeg.

I hope it's not unkind to give you the right answer?

You didn't give a right answer, so yes.

None of them.
Well I guess I imagined it then. I have lived near NYC for much of my life and they are not close to that scale, but...they exist.
