He said the committee knew about the theme and let him go with it, but where the problem lies is the Yorktown Foundation that oversees the groups running the parade cannot be involved in political speech as a 501c3 nonprofit.

Every year there is a parade of boats, this year the winner had a popular theme among many Americans. The sponsors of the parade knew the theme prior to the parade and did not take any issue with it. It was only once the boat won the best in show and was a fan favorite did they finally find a problem with the float. The foundation owes the boat owner an apology and recognize his win. Then make sure going forward the rules of the parade specifically ban political messages preventing things like this from happening going forward.

Berger’s boat should not have been in the parade, but to make matters worse, he won.

I can't help but read that in a super dramatic voice. I get it with non profit events, we want to keep politics out and try to unite but... it's just a boat parade and maybe it's the immature side of me but the Let's Go Brandon boat winning is hilarious.

Trumpists are saying bad things about a Democrat? Say it ain't so!

Look, I did buy a "**** Trump" shirt to wear when I went running, a few years back. But - and this one of a trillion crucial distinctions between me and Trumpists - I didn't act like I had struck the most ingenious coup de grace in human history when I did it.

Why are we supposed to care what loser right wingers write on their boats?
So you agree he should have his award returned to him since you don’t care what’s on his boat?

Let them have their cute little boat parades as long as it keeps the domestic terrorist's from trying to overthrow democracy.

IMO the none profit line is just an excuse for the organizers to strip away the award. If they were so concerned about political messaging then they should have forbidden it in the rules and they knew about the boat prior to the parade. They only seemed to care aboi political messaging once a message they disagree with won.

Sure, and they should put "loser of the year" on the award too.
For someone who isn’t supposed to care you sure seem to have a lot of hurt feelings over a Let’s Go Brandon boat.

So did they give awards to the "**** Trump" boats in years past?

Were there any "FDJT" boats in years past?

I think it's objectively funny. The boat was pretty well decorated tbh.

They spent years proclaiming how tough they were and that they don't care about your feelings, liberals, but they're afraid to actually say a naughty word.

Political satire is an America tradition and turnabout is fair play. Lest we forget:

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

Maybe someone will read the above high drama, and put your quote on the float.

Trumpers care most about "sticking it" to the non-Trumpers than they do to rational issues. That's how DJT got in in the first place. Sad.

Given this was a parade I can see why the word was not used. If you want to hear people saying it for whatever reason
