[W:824] Here we go again....mass shooting in Boulder.

NRA funds many politicians, and they also lobby other big money holder's to follow their lead.
Yeah. It's a conspiracy.

Maybe if that NRA cheerleading is defunct, then the politicians who take NRA money won't have that stream to rely on.
Again if the NRA is the only thing standing in the way of gun control, there will likely never be gun control.

The NRA Isn't powerful at all.

I understand your frustration but explain what your solution is and how it improves the dilemma.
The first step to any solution is that Americans need to have a conversation on what we agree on and what we don't, because I highly doubt the majority of Americans care if law abiding non-want-to-be mass shooters gave guns. Too many Americans are incapable of even having a conversation.

It is a fact that machine guns were banned. how it is not possible to ban rapid fire assault type and style weapons?

how can I give you more information on something that is facing hurdles even after the mass shooting I described, not to mention the Nevada shooting that claimed all those lives at the event, and they found those rapid fire weapons in the hotel.

I would love to have a solution... but I don't.... I'm looking for a solution here in the city where I live. The Police Chief just today, said they have to find a means to get the guns out of the hands where they don't belong. Cities across this nation is looking for solution, at some point, people will have to come to a consensus, what that might produce of results, I don't know.

I still stand by addressing a track back to the gun manufacture and the seller, for guns that are on the streets that are un-registered. First I'd say, "register all guns', including shot guns and other long guns. Because of the number of Guns in public... Give people 1 yr to get it registered, then no one has an excuse for having an un-registered gun, and apply the laws to those who don't qualify for having a registered gun.

I've got other Ideas I've presented, such as " create community based programs, where each community household or apartment, pay $10-$20 a month for Police Sub stations in their community, with camera's throughout the community. (We all know tax dollars don't stretch far enough to have the % of officers we actually need in communities, so... as long as tax money provided general policing, we should have no problem with increasing the means to get community based policing which improves the police presence and provide the cameras that are needed. I'd gladly pay, $120 -$240 a year for improved policing safety in the community. (heck I spend more than that on Lunch in the course of a month) even cigarettes cost more than that a month for those who smoke.

When I lived in California, I could walk for miles without any issues and without the fear of violence, I also watched one community go from no violence to crazy violence. (The 1980's brought out Drugs and with Drugs came more guns, and more expensive and assault type of weapons). Assault Style Weapons were not so prevalent prior to that time as it is today.

I complained to the police supervisor and police chief, when only one officer showed up initially, when the guy tried to break into my house, even after I said that I'd already fire a shot in the ground.
The perp could have been armed and hurt the officer, beside the response time was far too long. (as usual, they said they were short of manpower.) I'm happy I did not shoot the guy, but I could have and would have been justified in doing so.

Heck, we can even stop people from talking on Cell Phones while driving.

Why are you so defensive? Good lord, I've been discussing it very politely. Machine guns arent banned, you just need a special permit. And people use bump stocks as a workaround. Even outlawed, people can make them...that's the thing about 'laws,' the criminals dont follow them.

Yeah, you never accomplish anything. Probably because you are disingenuous.
get your "majority" to vote. Why are y'all all so desperate to do nothing?

I know. Deaths are not interesting to gun nuts. They simply don't give a shit. But I can be assured that my personal moral sentiments are in keeping with every other major civilized nation on the planet. We have a history of violence and gun worship. Its in our DNA. I get it. You don't give a rats ass about the problem at all. But lets pretend that you care and that the only reason you don't want to do something is because of...hell, I forgot what the hell you people care about anymore, its all a bloody blur of dead people to me at this point.

Is that up to you to decide? Esp. when the stakes are my life? Would you choose for pregnant women too, to risk remaining pregnant? I mean, no one can 'really know' for sure, right?
I literally dont care what you think you want.

I just know that in response to a horrific school shooting, the UK changed its laws, and twenty five years later still has never had another school shooting, while in the US we stack dead schoolchildren like cordwood. And no one is the UK, as far as I know, is bemoaning their desperate loss of freedom.

Well then I guess you asked me a very empty question that didnt work out for you. I was wondering, were you going to address this? It's esp. relevent to the UK/Europe. People can still get hunting rifles in the UK.

But it's not about guns, it's about culture and POS loser males. That somehow, the US is producing in record numbers.
Because to commit any of these shootings, all a person needs is one semi-auto hunting rifle. And an extra mag. (Or not). And in almost every other country, including Europe, citizens are allowed to own that. Many do.
Europe then, for example, HAS the capacity in terms of gun ownership to have just as many mass shootings. And they DONT. They are, as everyone points out, rare.
So since they have the guns, why dont they have the shootings?

Because generally people tend not to use long guns, like rifles, in killing other humans. They use handguns or assault weapons, both designed primarily to shoot humans.

I am happy to compromise and allow hunting rifles and shotguns and get rid of assault rifles and handguns.

But you’re not, I bet. Why not? You still get to shoot all the things you want to shoot, right? And thats apparently the most important thing here.

What do you want done about it? And who is "we"?
The civilized world recognizes that shit happens, and good people who own guns aren't responsible for the Boulder shooting.
Bad people wouldn't be either if they couldn't get their hands on a gun. It only makes sense to me if you limit the guns, you limit the death caused by guns. It's really not that complicated.

Your comments are so ironic its ****ing pathetic. You don't give a SHIT about the victims...you care about using them to promote a cause. NONE of you 'people' crawl out from under your rocks when there is daily bloodshed in the streets. NONE of you are going to your lawmakers and demanding they stop the killing of 9000-10,000 people a year...but Lord, dont you people shit yourself over the 50-60 a year you can exploit for gain.

Hell...you live in a state that has VERY restrictive gun laws...and you still had 1,679 homicides in 2019....more than your fair share for the countries total. Whahappun? Is it because 19% of the victims were white so you dont give a **** about the rest of the victims or is it because you know that the vast majority of perpetrators were also minority so you dont give a **** about that either? Or maybe its because you know that even with your restrictive gun laws in your state 60% involved the criminal use of firearms and 40% of the homicides didnt have shit to do with guns at all.

Oh...but you 'care'. You show just how much you 'care'...as long as its the right type of shooting...and especially the right type of perpetrator.

What is defensive about wanting to have a solution? I don't think the average person is going to get a permit for a machine gun. and They did address Bump Stocks.

I know. Deaths are not interesting to gun nuts.
The only interest you have in them is using them for dishonest arguments. It's why you do nothing. Insisting on flunking seems pointless to me but here you are.
They simply don't give a shit. But I can be assured that my personal moral sentiments are in keeping with every other major civilized nation on the planet.
Moral self aggrandizing is often a pathetic argument of those who hold illogical positions.

This is also why you never get anywhere. You can sprain your wrist performing onanism about how morally superior you are but if nobody believes you it's just self gratification.

We have a history of violence and gun worship.
You need to put down the crazy conspiracy theories. Nobody worships guns and when you say something that profoundly stupid you drive a dagger through the heart of your own argument.
You don't give a rats ass about the problem at all.
Correction, I don't give a rats ass about your moronic solution and arrogant moralizing.

It's because to do a piss poor job arguing for it.

Don't get mad at me because you suck at this. It's not my fault that you can't persuade anybody. I would suggest get better or find a different hobby.
But lets pretend that you care and that the only reason you don't want to do something is because of...hell, I forgot what the hell you people care about anymore, its all a bloody blur of dead people to me at this point.
this is why you can't persuade anymore your mind has been so incredibly twisted by your hatred you don't even know how to relate to other people.

you're sitting here trying to come up with ways to one up me and I'm trying to help you be better.

The fact that you can't take constructive criticism it's probably one of the reasons why you're so terrible at this why you do nothing why you will never do anything you can't you are so consumed about your own bigotry you can't think about anything else.

I'd ban everything but allow the national executive to make exemptions, by model number. Exemptions would be:

All muzzle loaders
Bolt action rifles
Target guns used in international sporting events like the Olympics
Shotguns with a capacity of not more than 3
"Classic guns" made before 1946.

That doesnt really address my question or at least it doesnt negate my point. Europeans have the firearm capacity to do the same exact mass shootings. And yet, they dont.

Go into an unarmed (it's Europe after all!) crowd or store or classroom with your regular old hunting rifle and ammo and it would be like shooting ducks in a barrel. It's a very rare occurrence. Why?

It's not the guns. Again, you havent really explained it...the hunting rifles are available...but they're not using them to kill people. Why not?

(And if you are correct, what's the huge outcry against ARs? They are indeed used in shootings here. They're just dressed up semi-auto rifles. Regular semi-auto rifles have the same killing capacity)

What is defensive about wanting to have a solution? I don't think the average person is going to get a permit for a machine gun. and They did address Bump Stocks.
Your 'defense' of your posts re: your solutions are very defensive. You are spending more time defending yourself than discussing.

Nevermind.

I think sensible gun control would go a long way...Every country has got loons and one countrie's loons aren' loonier than other countrie's loons. Every country has people with certain mental struggles/conditions of propensity towards violence. (And also in general, no countries people are better or worse than any other countrie's, obviously...) But countries like Japan have very strict gun control LAWS and seem to have a lot fewer shootings...the UK too

I am no expert on gun laws in your country, wether in states or federally, and I get that it is a legal balancing act between gun control laws and the second amendment and I know in the world there never are easy solutions...

Of course I also know this is a very hard subject and there are a lot of factors involved as to why horrific tragedies like these occur, like say inabilty for whatever reason for somebody to get the mental help/intervention they needed...But this needs to be fixed. Those horrific school shootings need to end. And I think sensible gun reform would help...

It addresses your question exactly. Let’s only have hunting rifles. You’re happy, I’m happy.

Why do you want all the other types if they all just do the same things?

Here we go again. The same old tired and proven false and dishonest leftist gun banning narrative.
