[W: #795] At least three people have been shot at the homes of Minnesota Democrats in overnight attacks by a gunman posing as cop

Agreed. MAGA is a different story. It is definitely a cult. Not everyone who voted for Trump is part of MAGA.

I disagree and I can back that up with specifics. What is your definition of cult?
The first time around maybe. But a third time around after he was a known commodity and tried to over throw the 2020 election including with Jan 6th happening (which btw, the lack of turnout for this fascist military parade birthday party bs for Trump shows just how big Jan 6 was and seen as a call to arms) and how unhinged he was with his rhetoric on the campaign trail? Sorry, they don't get that benefit of the doubt or shielding for a third time of Trump.

Maybe we should be thanking DOGE for cutting USAID, giving what we're seeing above.

Darn right.
I'm going to wait until it's been confirmed, but after all the information that has been posted to the thread, I think he was nuts, an evil man who pretended to be a Christian.

Think what you like, but a lot of polling showed that swing voters had economic issues on their mind and nothing else. That they erroneously believed that Biden's policies created inflation is unfortunate. That they also failed to grasp the significance of the threat to our system of government that Trump posed is even more unfortunate. That Trump was not prosecuted in a sufficiently manner for Jan 6th is unfortunate as well.

But it doesn't make those voters MAGA die hards. Uninformed, insufficiently educated, unsophisticated consumers of news - sure. But MAGA diehards? Nope.

He wasn't a MAGA like meeeee, cause a MAGA like meeeee, would never be a MAGA like hiiiiim.

The whiplash.

😃

Dad, I am apolitical. But, the GOP was out there a few years ago stampeding the police. And hitting the cops with their own batons and whatever they could get. Why were you silent then and today? Is there a difference, dad?
I get you are confused and struggling with reality but I am not your dad. Thankfully.

You are more then welcome to look up my posts on Jan 6 but I doing want reality to get in the way of your silly little rant.

Oh I understand what you are trying to do. Not my fault you aren't at all good at it.

I gave you my opinion. I disagree with yours. Hence, I politely ended our exchange by saying but you do you. Do you know what you do you means?

Look it up if not.

Looks like he was schlocking all sorts of things including this Christian church (or something) he was running for a while, courtesy of this screengrab from Internet Archive thanks to somebody on Reddit.

Yeah - basically he was doing little hustles, of sorts.

Let's not forget in doing his non-profit NGO work, he's still entitled to customary fees for his speaking time and business management.

I can't speak to his success or motives. But what he's doing - small private entrepreneurial income streams - is not unusual though.

I've got my hands in several such ventures, none related to politics. But I briefly considered starting an anti-Trump PAC/Political-Org, early in Trump's first term.

I figured I would be furthering a cause I believe in, while also earning a salary for my efforts. Together, that holds quite an appeal. Who doesn't want to get paid for doing what they believe in?

But unlike the more prosaic stuff I currently do, I was concerned that I would need to establish more online presence than I care to have - nor maintain. So I passed on it, preferring the relatively low-key online life I currently enjoy. I still sometimes second-guess and lament my passing on the opportunity, though.

Absolutely unacceptable. When they catch this psychopath, he deserves the highest level of capital punishment. Zero tolerance for violence against any elected officials.
This is something we should agree with despite our politics.
Assassinations of our elected officials must never be condoned.

I wonder where the coward is hiding. Probably in the woods. He was said to have survival gear in his fake cop car. They'll get him.

Yeah at this point the picture is coming into focus. Extremely religious (Christian, arguably fanatically so), anti-LGBTQ (again fanatically so), pro-Trump and Trump voter who killed several Democrats and whose vehicle was found with a long list of Democrats and pro-Democrat targets.

And therefore according to our local MAGA he was a LW nutjob.
I am Jacks' utter lack of surprise.

An evil man who targeted Democrats.

Says a lot.

Yes let’s pretend that democrat politicians are not fanning the flames with their rhetoric. Just like they did during the blm riots.

"Fanning the flames with their rhetoric" can mean anything.

I'm talking about conduct. I'm talking about refusing to concede an election that even his own party and staff knew he lost. I'm talking about trying to tell his brainwashed followers that ther was election fraud when everyone knew that there wasn't (including Fox News, which was forced to pay $787 million as a result). I'm talking about organizing a rally based on all of those lies and then standing in front of a pissed up mob that included extremist groups and then telling them that they had to fight like hell or that they wouldn't have a country anymore. This is also after he said he was disappointed in his vice president for not going along with his scheme, which prompted chants of 'Hang Mike Pence'. Dude, this is so ****ing out of the boundaries of normal its only precedent is in fledgling democracies that are trying to emerge from colonialism.

Whatever occasional misstatement a Democrat might make, it's in no way, shape, or form comparable to the conduct that the Republican party engages in now.
