no not sell allow fishing boats access to our waters unless a deal is struck .... can you honestly see a deal being done with Scotland and the rest of the UK when they can't even do one with the EU .... on the exit from the UK London will burn the bridges so to speak ..... both Tories and Labour threatened hard borders in 2014
we had long standing trading ties with the Hanseatic league and some of Scotland's oldest documents remain in Hamburg .... we also had ties with the Dutch as we got all our wheat from Netherlands/Holland we had trade links with Germanic traders going back before the creation of Scotland in 862AD and as for the Auld Alliance/Vieille Alliance (An Seann-chaidreachas) according to prominent historians it was never renounced by Scotland/Alba (Ala-Pa) or France/Fraunc so when Scots landed on Normandy and the 51st Highland Division fought on in '40 after Dunkirk they were essentially fulfilling their/our obligation under the treatyScotland's "auld alliance" is with France not Germany ffs lol.
i would hope so for both countries sake we are the rUK's 2nd biggest customer after America ..... but as i said i don't trust Boris or the Tory partyA deal between Scotland and the rest of the UK will be massively simpler than a deal between the UK and EU.
as you probably know English is derived from German .... middle English was German language
And? The problem is how the fishing stock is to be counted. Now the EU wants to use the current system, where as the British wants to use a different one. That is the problem.
Now this does mean that the UK has considerable power over this
So you can have all those fish, but no where to sell them and not enough boats to fish them.
Cars matter far more to the UK economy and the British could not give a damn about them for some reason.. odd eh?
the UK fishing waters the EU countries want access to are Scotland's maritime waters the only real fishing waters apart from Norway is worth a damn in Europe .... the English should worry more about access to our waters when we leave ... no more cod for your fish and chips
Now £1 trillion of assets & 7000 jobs so far are moving out due to Brexit, mostly to Frankfurt.
You do know that European aircraft usually pass through British airspace to fly to the states?
The massive trade imbalance between the U.K. and EU is one of the reasons for Brexit. When the imbalance is as obscene as it has become its time to remove yourself from the protection racket because it is clearly not protecting you ....it’s raping you.So cutting off your nose to spite your face is now official Johnson government policy.
Why don’t you go and tell some Scottish fishermen that you wish to give the whole of the EU access to their waters...whilst the rUK has all its own waters to itself. I’d Wear a crash helmet and some lightweight running shoes if I were you lol.the UK fishing waters the EU countries want access to are Scotland's maritime waters the only real fishing waters apart from Norway is worth a damn in Europe .... the English should worry more about access to our waters when we leave ... no more cod for your fish and chips
A friend of mine hangs out at his local with some Pompey fishermen...they live a tough life ( and drink like fish lol) . They earn about £200 a day if they are out for 24 hours ...they spend a week or so at a time out there. Then the UK authorities come down like a ton of bricks on them for any undersize catch....issuing large fines at the drop of a hat...I bet the French authorities are nowhere near as hard on their fishermen. It’s a hard way to earn a living...oh and they have running scraps with French boats too.So our fishermen win raped waters they already sold. Win win for Brexit. The Portsmouth fleet must be thrilled!
It's British waters we are talking about. The EU have no right at all, now that Brexit has happened and the UK is no longer a member of the EU, to decide how anything is counted. British people will decide what happens in their own waters just as the EU is welcome to decide what happens in theirs.
This is yet another great example of how the EU is acting unreasonably.
Congrats, you got that one correct. You need to tell the EU to stop acting so unreasonably.
Don't you realise how silly you are to claim that Brits have nowhere to sell their fish? A trade deal will be done with the EU whether on WTO terms or whether another deal is agreed.
The Brits don't have enough boats because the industry has been damaged by EU fisherman fishing in British waters. British fisherman only catch 40% of the fish caught in British waters. The British fishing industry therefore has the potential to expand by 250%.
That they couldn't give a damn about cars is obviously not true...and is a silly claim.
The UK has Korea and Japan lining up to substitute their cars for those made by the European vehicle manufacturers who are currently advantaged.
The UK is using this portion as an excuse for a no deal.
Lol! You have the same hackneyed view of the "Empire" that many anti-Brits have.It was a symptom of the failing British Empire.
Cars made in Korea and Japan will have the same tariffs as those made in the UK.
Honda has already announced it is closing its plant.
Which is an opinion that makes no sense at all as they have no motive to want a no deal. Boris would be heavily criticised in the UK if this happened...which I am sure he would want to avoid.
The EU have a very compelling motive to want a no deal. They want to show the other member states how difficult it is to end their membership of the EU.
The EU will probably cave in again as the Germans are already predicting disaster for their motor industry if there is a no deal....and they pull the strings of the EU leadership.
Lol! You have the same hackneyed view of the "Empire" that many anti-Brits have.
The Empire was created during a time of no or limited democracy when monarchs or the filthy rich called the tune. It was never something the average working class Brit was interested in. Democracy, both in the UK and its colonies put a welcome end to that period of British history.
I personally am thankful to Britain and its former colonies for their sacrifice in freeing Western Europe from fascist EU nations and also preventing further Communist expansion into Europe.
If you read my post again you will see that I was comparing the cost of cars from Korea and Japan to EU cars. The EU cars will not only lose the tariff free advantage they have had for years but will have tariffs imposed on their importation.
Or perhaps you haven't caught up yet with the latest news :

Are you not aware that this closure has nothing to do with Brexit, but is a result of declining sales in the whole of Europe?
The Japanese motor industry has been in decline for years due to the massive increase in lower cost vehicles being made in Korea and China.
"The Swindon factory closure: how Honda got Europe so wrong"
"European sales have been on a steady – some insiders say ‘managed’ – decline, levelling out at 140,000-150,000 units in 2017/18 – pretty much where Honda’s European sales started in 1990."

Yeah you don't really know much about the UK or Boris Johnson....
Which is an opinion that makes no sense at all as they have no motive to want a no deal. Boris would be heavily criticised in the UK if this happened...which I am sure he would want to avoid. ...
wrong 60% of the catch is to the EU ... 90% of the shellfish is sold to Europe .... all the finest French hotels and eateries buy their shellfish with Scottish shellfish and the French fish markets are filled with Scottish shellfish freshly landed during the early hours and sent to the French and European markets within a couple of hours ... the French can't get enough of our Langoustines and our Scallops and West coast of Scotland LobstersYou are obviously not aware that British fishermen only catch 40% of the fish caught in British waters.
English fisherman will have more than enough water to fish in without competition from EU fishermen and even Scottish fishermen, in the unlikely event that Scotland leaves the UK. The vast majority of the fish caught by Scottish fishermen is sold in the rest of the UK anyway.
btw that was not a thumbs for liking this i wanted to express dismay for those who lost and are losing their jobs it's not a nice feeling ... other sites when you click i like give you the option to show happiness, sadness, anger etcBack in the 1970's, more American banks had offices in London, than in New York. Between 1957 & 1981 the number of foreign banks in the City rose from 80 to 520 - more than twice as many as any other centre in the world. Now £1 trillion of assets & 7000 jobs so far are moving out due to Brexit, mostly to Frankfurt.
So much freedom!
How much of the fish in Scottish waters is landed by non Scottish boats? If you think Scottish fishermen are pro- EU you are even more deluded than I thought lol.wrong 60% of the catch is to the EU ... 90% of the shellfish is sold to Europe .... all the finest French hotels and eateries buy their shellfish with Scottish shellfish and the French fish markets are filled with Scottish shellfish freshly landed during the early hours and sent to the French and European markets within a couple of hours ... the French can't get enough of our Langoustines and our Scallops and West coast of Scotland Lobsters
