[W:592] How is being kind and inclusive a bad thing? Aren't those things objectively good?

Is it fundamental good to be open-minded, inclusive, and kind to others?

  • No, we should only be good to people who think and act like me.

These are objectively good things. The problem comes when you have a group of people like MAGA who will say the same thing...but then on the other side of their mouths will apply that principal to only those they like.

When it stops being a good thing is when you start allowing bad evil people harm others just to be "inclusive", or to not hurt their feelings.

If a person wants to pretend they are the opposite sex that it their right, but when they try to get Government to FORCE OTHERS to Play pretend with that person that is Oppression and BAD !

Also when it is BAD PEOPLE who want the good people to be "Opened minded & Inclusive" that it a con game that BAD PEOPLE use to harm those who are weak and will put up with the BS !

AS for immigration, when it is done BY THE LAW all America are fine with it !
When it is done ILLEGALLY BY A CRIMINAL FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY then NO! That oversteps the idea of "GOOD PEOPLE" being "open minded and inclusive".

For anyone to even imply that America is not the MOST OPEN MINDED AND INCLUSIVE country in the world that show that someone has been gaslighted and is not grounded in reality.

This doesn't exist anywhere in nature, ever. Just right wing men terrified of being attacked to trans women.

Agreed. I don't understand why people would oppose discrimination and racism once they've been rebranded as kindness and inclusion. It's like they don't understand the transformative magic of euphemisms.
FFS, grow up.

Are you lying or just not coherent ?....
Wait, I take that back, you are right the insanity of males pretending to be females (vise versa)does not exist in nature! But only in liberal homo sapiens groups!....

Just go look up: "transgender pronoun mandate"

Example of government mandated...waht is it you believe the government forced you do to where trans people are concerned? Pretend you care about womens' sports...or something?

The republicans began insisting that every problem was related to a "DEI hire", basically this was them slandering every single non white person who was working for government. 6 months in and they can't keep children safe during rain storms, can't keep aircraft in the skies, can't keep journalists out of secret war planning sessions on...signal (?). Republicans do nothing but play identity politcs. IT's the only reason you voted for Trump 3 times.
Exactly. They are the ones playing politics with identity. I would add to their obsession over genitals and who gets be considered a woman.

Who gets to be a woman
who gets to be black
who gets to be jewish
Who gets to be an american

A party of nothing but identity politics.

Fox News attacked the film for being about kindness and supporting immigration. Apparently that’s a controversial topic.
They were wrong to attack the film without seeing it in advance, and Gunn was wrong to make any correlation between his film and the topic of illegal immigration (which is the only controversy, not immigration per se).

So, let me get this right: Steve Rogers was old at the end of Avengers Endgame and he had to pass the shield on to someone younger, and opted to pass it to The Falcon who has now become the new Captain America, and THAT makes it woke??
I suppose if the older Steve Rogers had passed the shield to a white guy, well, THAT would have been just fine in your eyes?
You've still got a little straw hanging off your mouth since cooking up that strawman. THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER is woke for a lot of reasons, but not for something so basic as a racial replacement. I'd cite one or two reasons but you (a) wouldn't take my word for them, and (b) wouldn't go check out the series to make comparisons for yourself. Why not? Well, it would take too much time away from your strawmanning.

Well folks, as we have seen on this thread, and an earlier one I posted about the new Superman movie, when Righties get a bee in their bonnets they can't let it go.
Fox and Rightwing media has gotten them SO riled up, they can't even see the inanity of their own arguments. It's like a room full of children squawking over nothing. They have been told the theme in Superman is "woke" and like mindless lemmings have gobbled it up.

Yet............... we KNOW this keeps happening. Black mermaid, the same crop of people went nuts. They were positively beside themselves with glee when Snow White with a Hispanic girl playing the part flopped. Never mind Superman has killed it at the boxoffice, they were positively dancing in the isles at Snow White flopping.

I mentioned on this thread about the new Captain America being black and sure enough, one of that crew immediately launched into a tirade about the movie featuring a black Captain America being woke. I kid you not.

Next - the Silver Surfer in the new Fantastic Four movie will be female. You can already place your bets how a certain crop will react. There is also plenty of speculation that the next James Bond will be either black or female. When that happens, we will see more heads explode on debate forums. Guaranteed.

So why does THIS keep happening? Why is it that every time a fictional character that was previously white and male is turned into a character that is black or female one group of people get so riled up and triggered that they have to flood debate forums with their childish, petulant and whiny remarks?

We know why. It's blatantly obvious why.
But as I said, there's nothing woke about Legacy. It's successful because Gunn played things down the middle. I'm sure a lot of Righties will go see it for that reason, whereas a lot of them wouldn't go see Brave New World because the preceding series was a thinly disguised defense of terrorism and an attack on conservative values. Possibly World wasn't as extreme as FATWS, but why should anyone give World the benefit of the doubt?

Thanks for undercutting your own post with all of your childish, petulant, and whiny remarks, BTW.

By his own admission, he was not in on the meeting, and without preceding context, his direct quote is subject to very broad interpretation.

HOLLOW!

False equivalents won't buttress your argument. Let me know as soon as I make the slightest effort to defend Karen Bass.
No preceding context would ameliorate the thick-headedness of anyone saying they don't know what "merit" means.

And her words were truly hollow and meaningless except to the Koolaid-drinkers.

which makes him illegal.
But it's not an issue to anyone in the film. Even xenophobe villain Luthor is clearly bent out of shape due to his envy of Superman's combination of strength and goodness, not because he's technically illegal.

I'll see the movie tomorrow.
I would rather see him save city buildings worth billions than save a kitten.
I hope that doesn't put me on the bad side of cat lovers.
He does both.

To piss you off, obviously.

Since day one of the franchise. It's his entire backstory. He's an undocumented immigrant.

It was already there.
Nope, it's the sort of adult thing that didn't make its way into kids' entertainment and only became slightly more of a concern once comics were too expensive for kids and became supported by an older audience. I haven't followed Superman comics steadily since the 1970s but I keep my ear to the ground. The immigrant debate only comes up once in a while, mostly in the last 20 years, because even a lot of adult readers find it boring.

Should I post screen shots from 1950s issues?

This question kind of goes into the "Is respect earned or given" territory. Should I be kind and inclusive to someone who doesn't help themselves? There is a difference between an LGBTQ person who works for a living and does what they have to do to feed their families, and an LGBTQ person who sits around jobless and uses their orientation as an excuse to not try to better themselves and get ahead in life.

I have asked this question many times, and never got a response from our MAGA friends.

When did Gunn say that the movie was about illegal immigration or that Superman was an undocumented immigrant?

Are you insinuating those unfortunate deaths compare to the imaginary destruction of billions of dollars worth of city skyscrapers?
Such comparisons are impractical. Remember, it's a movie about a fictional superhero that we're discussing here.
No, I'm saying that society seems willing to trade human deaths in exchange for progress. So - since we were originally talking about the kitten - what would a cat's life be in comparison to a building? From a societal view, that is?
