[W:542] Star Harvard business professor stripped of tenure, fired for manipulating data in studies on dishonesty

And yet, cancer is significantly more treatable and survivable now than in the past. All due to advances in detection, diagnosis, and treatment which have led to improved outcomes for many cancer types, including a decline in the overall cancer death rate.

All those incompetent experts, with all their faulty studies and empirical papers, still, somehow, saving more lives than ever before.

Yes.
You certainly have proven beyond a doubt that experts are incompetent.
I'm calling my Gardner right now to lance my hemorrhoids.

Higher education is in trouble because many college freshman in this generation can't so much as read a book. And that's not hyperbole.

That's been true for decades. Remedial reading programs are common for the UC system in California.

Academia has banked on customers who are too ignorant to grasp the concept of ROI. Many assumed that taxpayers would pick up the tab for their AA in Gender Fluidity Studies and are now disgruntled to find they have to pay the loan they took and that learning to get tattoos, a nose ring, and blue hair isn't enough to land a 6 figure salary.

You must have misheard. But you're not gonna believe what Trump's top people are finding on Obama's secret Kenyan birth certificate, believe me!

Wasn't that conspiracy theory started by Hillary Clinton?

Lets have a little thought process:

The US in all it's glory decides to move back towards the time before we have cars with emissions. We get horses. We grow crops. We barter etc.
You get my point, right?

So how long does that buy the world?

There are many examples of how a transition away from fossil fuel is not only possible but also can create a society with greater quality of life. It is just that powerful interests have delayed the transition for so long.

Also for example the Netherlands have shown it possible to reduce car dependency and create a better society. While at the same time Netherlands is still a good country for driving a car for those who still want and need to.

The US have become a dangerous country for academics from other countries. That a scientist was locked up for months and risked deportation from bringing frog embryos into the US.

While another was looked up for weeks simply because she wrote an Op Ed.

I thought the Harvard model is to draw a conclusion, then find or fabricate data to support it?
That's nonsense. It's interesting, though, that you come up with some baseless accusation and find no need at all for any data or support.

Yep. The difference being: when the evidence didn't pan out, she let it go.

But evidence means nothing to the MAGA crowd- only divine revelations from Donald Trump. So you should go back to looking for cat eating Haitians, cancer causing wind turbines, stolen presidential elections, autism-causing vaccines, genocidal S Africans, etc, etc.... Good luck.

I don't doubt one bit that we could reduce dependency on cars.

But that wasn't the question in the thought process.

If your country and mine, both went 99% green.

How long does that buy the earth?

It's a balance between mitigation and adaptation. Whatever we can't mitigate, we are going to have to adapt to (more natural disasters, coastal cities and islands going under water, increasing unpredictable drought/flooding for farmers, etc, etc...)

It's clear we can't do just one or the other. It's just going to be a matter of how much we as a society, and a world, decide to do of each.

What we should really be complaining about is the lack of hard evidence upon utterances of ANY political hit job.

If such evidence existed, there would no squirming out of it. It would be apologized for/punished, and then the people would decide to move on or not.

Every singe thing today is rushed, some 'anonymous source', or other things that fail to come to fruition, but by then the courtroom of public opinion has already taken grasp and decided.

That is why the legacy media (to include FOX and most news sources) are not trusted by me.

It was clear a long time ago that we needed to keep building, and making more safe, nuclear reactors.

Same fight only reverse the people fighting.

Now we are left with the above, or the do nothing crowd, or the pander to whomever votes my way crowd.

Sure. So still waiting for the hard evidence on "you're not gonna believe what my top people are finding on Obama's real birth certificate", and then maybe an apology or punishment.

Trump is a 34-count convicted felon and sexual assaulter. Nothing was rushed in making those decisions.

Why just nuclear reactors and nothing else? Because that's the latest divine revelation from Donald Trump?

I thought climate change was all just a Chinese hoax. Now "it was clear a long time ago"...?

After all, America has repeatedly voted for the Chinese hoax theory, and against this:

"If we're going to end our dependence on foreign oil, if we're going to bring gas prices down once and for all... then what we're going to have to do is to develop every single source of energy that we've got, every new technology that can help us become more efficient."
-Barack Obama, 2012

You seem to have this Trump thing going on that infects all your posts.

Maybe don't? At least if you want to be able to rationally discuss things, with me.

I have no idea what Trump is pushing regarding nuclear, but we are decades behind.
No other source can replace the power needed now, nor the growth except nuclear.

It was clear a long time ago that we needed to keep building, and making more safe, nuclear reactors.
Nuclear power is on taxpayer life support. No private entity will touch it due to simple economics. The market has spoken. It's a mistake to keep throwing government money down that hole.

Due to ...?,
There are no known costs for liability insurance and waste management. Average times for project completions are 10 years. What will be the costs of labor and materials in 2035?

So some were and some weren't
Your statement was false
Here, learn something today

@Bighorn66 is correct. The term "pedophile" is constantly misused as a catch-all for all forms of sexual misconduct and assault/abuse for anyone under the legal of consent.

What's relevant here is that there is a well-established problem among gay adult males involving attraction to earlier stages of adolescence, and that this is a separate problem from pedophilia, the attraction to prepubescent children.

Hebephilia and Ephebophilia are major issues among the gay male population to the degree that even many adults emulate those Tanner stages of development in appearance and dress as a full homosexual identity (i.e. Ladyboys, twinks, etc.). There is most definitely a strong amount of hebephilic and ephebophilic conduct in groups that commonly commit acts of sexual abuse toward adolescents, such as priests and teachers. There is actually much stronger evidence that the boy scout leader problem is pedophilic in nature than that of the sexual abuse perpetrated by clergy and educators.

More needs to be done to address this issue, not only in those professions, but in the homosexual community itself. We should not be turning a blind eye to an obvious issue just because it involves a marginalized group.

It's an interesting topic to discuss, albeit not in this thread. Perhaps we could take it elsewhere to ensure we're not hijacking the topic here.

The Trump administration is already publishing fake reports.

"The Trump administration released a report last week that it billed as a “clear, evidence-based foundation” for action on a range of children’s health issues.

But the report, from the presidential Make America Healthy Again Commission, cited studies that did not exist. These included fictitious studies on direct-to-consumer drug advertising, mental illness and medications prescribed for children with asthma.

“It makes me concerned about the rigor of the report, if these really basic citation practices aren’t being followed,” said Katherine Keyes, a professor of epidemiology at Columbia University who was listed as the author of a paper on mental health and substance use among adolescents. Dr. Keyes has not written any paper by the title the report cited, nor does one seem to exist by any author."

While stopping real scientific studies.

As to the bold, of course those are known/figured things, or they wouldn't even get started building/planning

They project those things all the time. We regularly do it in our own local, State and Federal governments.

Nothing but the best people, indeed, but even when they make them up they are losers, thanks to all MAGATS et al who voted this KING MAGAT into office.
