We find that men who are more dissatisfied with the size of their penises are less likely to personally own guns across outcomes, including any gun ownership, military-style rifle ownership, and total number of guns owned.

Interesting discussion. Maybe this should have been posted in a different section.

Only in America.

For some, I guess.

If there's a good place for this here, I don't know where it is.

Scientific papers studying gun ownership always cause contention - I made a choice and stand by it, even if it was wrong.

To our knowledge, this is the first study to formally examine the association between penis size and personal gun ownership in America.

I would pay money to be in the room when these researchers approached their boss for funding for this study.

Wow, an academic study on a meme...

A better study would be to find out why old men (who don't have sex anymore) have to control young women they don't even know.

Although I do admit that we pretty much already know the reasons.

.gov gives money to lots of stuff.

Maybe member size?

How would you structure your study?

And why do you not think people of X age have sex?

Typically the people who say something anything you own is an attempt to compensate for a small penis are attacking your masculinity.

That you are less of a man because you own something. And that you should want to be more like them it's in appeal to emotion in an attempt to manipulate.

No thanks.

My fake psychosexual relationship meme was about virility, not size.🤣
Interesting!

Do gun owners produce fewer children per lifetime than non gun owners?

What is your data on that? I'd love to read it.

Just another example of just to what degree government waste your tax dollars, and how we have $43 Trillion in debt

Where did you find the funding statement for this study?

Can you share the link?

Or
ARE YOU JUST MAKING SHIT UP ABOUT THE FUNDING FOR THIS STUDY?

Please note the use of the word 'fake'.

The study quite clearly states the only connection is in mythology.
From digging a bit deeper than a lazy synopsis. This isthe research.

Whether penis size dissatisfaction limits gun ownership or is unrelated to gun ownership, the psychosexual theory of gun ownership remains unsupported. Guns are clearly phallic symbols. Guns are clearly associated with masculinity. However, in our analyses, penis size dissatisfaction is unrelated to mental health. The psychosexual theory of gun ownership consistently fails in its assertion that men who have trouble with their penises or are dissatisfied with their penises are especially likely to acquire guns as a means of compensation. While some arguments for “compensatory masculinity” are quite credible (e.g., violence as a means of asserting masculinized power in a virulent and criminal fashion), this study cautions against universalizing this theoretical construct to include all risky behavior (Courtenay, 2000). Gun ownership is more likely driven by greater masculinity, diverse constructs of manhood, or perhaps even higher levels of testosterone than by deficits in masculinity or sexual health.
It would seem to be the other way around. Men buy guns to boost their masculinity , not to compensate for a lack of.
Basically it is not an interesting discussion unless you find trying to insult people instead of actually having a civil discussion interesting.

Well I took it as satire moving the people who like to think their chest and macho boast about being so manly they don't need a gun

I mean it's not addressing a serious argument so why would you expect this study to be serious.

You're probably correct, and will probably be the first and only. Because no one else gives a shit to spend money and resources on such a thing.

But I already have the guns, so if I go buy a Porsche, could I get people to think I got a Tommy Lee dong?
I could use all the help I can get!:ROFLMAO:
