TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Registered Florida sex offenders could be forced to use a “distinctive” fluorescent green license plate with the passage of a bill making its way through the state legislature.
An amendment, added by Democratic Senator Lauren Book to Senate Bill 1252, was filed on Tuesday.
It would give authorities the power to assign a “distinctive, fluorescent green license plate to vehicles owned, leased, or operated by persons who are designated as sexual predators” in Florida.

In addition to the above, the words "Sexual Predator" would be required across the front of their drivers license in red letters.
I'm not sure how I feel about this; in Minnesota, we required DUI offenders to display "Whiskey Plates" on their vehicles....
...rather than the normal blue and white Minnesota plates; and they can eventually be exchanged for regular plates after a period of time. ( one year minimum)
Nothing in the article about how long Sex offenders would have to display such plates or have to have the identifier on the driver's license.
I believe we need to keep a close eye on offenders, and ensure public safety; but I think this may have some unintended consequences and may require some additional thought.
