>Russia launched a massive overnight attack on Ukraine’s capital early Thursday, Aug.28, striking Kyiv with ballistic and cruise missiles, Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and waves of Iranian-made Shahed drones. The assault left fires raging across the city, damaged residential buildings and infrastructure, and killed at least fourteen people, including 3 children, aged 2, 14 and 17 years old, officials said.<
The attack also damaged the EU mission building in Kyiv. As I see it, Donald Trump now owns a measure of blame for Putin's strikes on Ukraine.
Kyiv struck Russia’s Afipsky and Kuibyshev oil refineries and depots on Aug 28, sparking massive fires, while Russia shelled Ukrainian cities.

In particular, the Afipsky oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region, which supplies fuel to the Russian army, was attacked. “This refinery, whose main products are gasoline and diesel fuel, is engaged in supplying the occupiers’ army,” the General Staff wrote in its statement.<

The funding is provided from frozen Russian assets — more precisely, from the income from Russian funds frozen in European banks. In July, Ukraine's state budget received €1 billion from the European Union under this program. The previous tranche of the same amount was received in June.<
