[W:2270] Does a Gun Make Your Home Safer?

We both know you have not
Of course I have.
Are you saying what I claim is not true ?
Why do you expend so much energy, but lack the courage to answer ?
I’m saying exactly what I said. I’ve answered numerous times. I could t give any less of a **** whether you like the answer or not.

Of course I have.

But we both know you haven't

I’m saying exactly what I said. I’ve answered numerous times. I could t give any less of a **** whether you like the answer or not.

But we both know you haven't

So are you saying what I claim, about service in the British army, is a lie ?

Of course I have

But we both know you haven't

I’m saying exactly what I said.

And as always, you say something, then when confronted to say what you mean, you dodge and squirm, like you're doing now
It's amusing to see

Are you saying that what I claim, about service in the British army, is a lie ?
And what are washing machines designed to do ?

Questions you refuse to answer.

But we both know you haven't
Of course I have

Repeatedly pointing out I’ve already answered you, and you trolling me, don’t erase
The written record showing I answered you.
It's amusing to see
I’m sure it is

Trolling off topic deflection

Just as your refusal to answer reflects the lack of courage in your convictions

You say something
Then well called out over it, you dodge and squirm.

We both know you haven't.
Of course I have.
We both know it isn't
Of course it is

You’re confused again. I directly answered you.
You say something
Then well called out over it, you dodge and squirm.
I’ve point d you back to me saying exactly what I said several times. It’s hilarious watching you though.

Of course I have.

Of course it is

We both know you haven't and it isn't.

You’re confused again. I directly answered you.

We both know you haven't
You continued refusal to answer is ample evidence of that

Are you saying I'm lying about British army service
Go on, refuse to answer again, as I know you will.

I’ve point d you back to me saying exactly what I said several times. It’s hilarious watching you though.

Hilarious is your continued squirming and dodging.

We both know you haven't and it isn't.

Pretending I haven’t answered doesn’t make the written record of my answer go away.

See above.

Pretending I haven’t answered doesn’t make the written record of my answer go away.

I’m saying exactly what I said.

You are confused again. Directly answered you, numerous times.

You haven't, you dodged and squirmed, like you're still dodging and squirming.

See above

Ditto

You are confused again. Directly answered you, numerous times.

Nope, though you try to create confusion with your many straw-men
We both know you are too afraid to answer - are you calling me a liar ?

As you are equally afraid to answer my question about washing machines and their designed purpose.

You continue to dodge and squirm.

Nope, though you try to create confusion with your many straw-men
You’re confused again. And don’t seem to know what a strawman is.

Pretending I have not answered does not erase the written record of my answers.

I simply don’t slow you to deflect. I love how badly that pisses you off.
You continue to dodge and squirm.

Just a comment on the above dispute. Rich claims he served in the British army. There is no way to disprove that unless someone actually knows his name and could check it. Being in the army doesn't make one an expert on firearms. We can challenge his credibility when it comes to understanding firearms. We can deny he understands guns or American gun laws. But we cannot claim he is lying when he says he was in the HMS, because we don't have facts sufficient to prove that. The only time someone can be proven to have lied about themselves on a board like this, is if 1) they say something that is obviously not possible (example "I ran a 3.20 mile in a track meet" or 2) they contradicted directly another claim of theirs. Rich has not done that. He could have served in the British Army and he has not contradicted that from what I have seen.

I'm done bickering with you
You won't answer questions

It's like talking to the wall

Come back to me when you're willing to answer, until then, you're dismissed.

You could use a washing machine to tumble brass. I've seen one used to hull walnuts. And, of course they can be used to wash clothes. All this, as a function of their design. They are designed to agitate liquid mixtures.

In the same way, as a function of their design, guns can be used for many things. Plinking. Competitive sports. Signaling. We used to use a .22 pistol to poke holes in a steel drum to make a burn barrel. Oh yeah, they can be used to kill, as well. Such as hunting and pest control. Even murderous killing, if someone purposes one that way.

Same way with motor vehicles.

I know this gripes you to no end, as demonstrated by your obsession with asking someone else to take up the argument.

Thank you TD

If I'm not an expert on US gun laws, it's possibly because I don't have a gun, though I think I have a fair understanding of them by now.

In the US Army, you learn the phonetic alphabet about week 2 of Basic, if not sooner.

I dunno...maybe in the Brit army, they brief you on it during your retirement ceremony.

But I accept your concession.

Some 'interesting' articles out there, articles that contradict the claims of many gun advocates.

The 'statistics' in this meme seem a bit high but research does show that guns in the house are more likely to harm a resident than an intruder.

Guns in Home, Greater Odds of Family Homicide

Living in a house with a gun increases your odds of death

My guns make my house VERY safe.....for criminals and home invaders, not so much. 😉
