It's actually Putin who wanted normalization with the West the most! He was extremely naive, trying to befriend those who despised him and never regarded him as an equal:


The Americans absolutely never wanted a "normal", mutually respectful relationship with Russia, they always wanted to destroy Russia, to ruin its economy and to deal with it from a position of power, of delusional superiority.
It was totally unacceptable what happened under Putin: Russia's GDP increased 10 times, the military was being rebuilt, Russia became a powerful voice, putting some brakes on America's totally savage and unstoppable behavior in the Middle East, protecting the leadership of Syria from the murderous Americans.

If the military was so strong and rebuilt...why are they losing so badly in Ukraine?

My point is that Russia has been weakened and China can if they wanted to send in Millions of people and swarm the eastern part of Russia and with the number of people China has the Russians would have a really hard time stopping them with out using Nuclear bombs .
and we could very well get tied up in that mess because we would NOT want a China that big or that strong

The CCP-PRC is not strong.

Indeed, the only concern greater than a rising China is the falling China the world has now and for the rest of the way to China's historical and cyclical self demise. I've posted that every China dynasty has failed and does fail.

There are btw always some folk who overplay China's freakishly large population. The 600m of the Chinese urban middle class are not going to relocate to Siberia. Neither do the Yuppies join the Party's armed forces.

Some Chinese have been populating Siberia but not enough. The PLA would need to take it which anyway is not a done deal. Think Russia and Ukraine and the PLA overstocked by kids from the sticks and Party generals whose expertise is corruption.

well if the government tells them to " relocate " to Siberia or get shot I think a lot of them will go ,Siberia has a lot of oil and gas that China needs , and with that large population they can send in 10 million people , yes Russia will try to fight them off but with over 500 million plus still back home they can repopulate as fast if not faster then the number of people that the Russians kill. that is why I say if they ever did Russia would have to use Nuclear weapons to halt them

Well my friend you've got it all nailed down solidly so who can contest your absolute certainty such as the wild statement "well if the government tells them to " relocate " to Siberia or get shot I think a lot of them will go."

The sad fact is that you're actually hellbent serious in your gross misperception of life in China for the Chinese. As if the CCP shooting Chinese citizens who disobey or refuse a directive that would never come were real.

I'd mentioned but you ignore some Chinese have relocated to Siberia, but I say now those are Party members who go to where they are told to go, such as Tibet or Xinjiang too-- or are sent overseas to a Confucius Institute at a college campus in a Western country. Those are Party members who comply cheerfully.

The Party security flatfoots do require numerous citizens to report on coworkers or even a friend or lover, but they're not shooting any Chinese for any disobedience or defiance of what many ordinary Chinese consider a patriotic duty. Few Chinese resist "spying" on others of this nature because among other reasons it gets 'em in good with the national security police in your district or community.

No one is going to be shot for refusing to relocate to Siberia. No ordinary Chinese is going to be required. Many in the Party wouldn't stand for it or any such thing besides. This is 21st century authoritarian China, not North Korea who the vast number of Chinese have contempt for, same as their leaders have.
