Ohio man, 60, who blasted COVID-19 lockdown as 'political ploy' dies after contracting coronavirus | Daily Mail Online

John W. McDaniel tested positive for the coronavirus in late March and died at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus last Wednesday.

On Facebook, he had dismissed the killer virus as a 'political ploy' that he said officials were using to exert control over the public.

'Does anybody have the guts to say this COVID19 is a political ploy? Asking for a friend. Prove me wrong,' he wrote in a March 13 post.*

Circle jerk scientists and private internet groups where you 'speak your truth' about all of these government conspiracies are not going to protect your lungs from COVID-19. I feel bad for his family cause now they're the family of that guy who won a Darwin award. Don't play yourself like this guy did. Follow your governor's instructions to stay inside, folks... And if they're not figuring out ways to put less people in harm's way, vote them out when the time comes.

Whatever you do, don't end up like the guy in this story.

Listening to Rush, Hannity, and Beck can be hazardous to your health.

And Donald Trump ... telling his gullible base to "LIBERATE" states while he hides in the White House.

This is a fact.

It's seriously ****ed up that Trumpist hatred of the left is so extreme that they get themselves killed expressing that hatred.

There was no "hoax", no exaggeration. It really is bad. It really can kill you. And no, we're not out to take your constitutional rights. We don't want you getting other people killed.

A friend just posted this obituary and the angry letter that he previously wrote. He should be nominated for a Darwin award.

As usual, you get nothing right. Tell me, how did this man contract this virus? You, of course, havent got a clue. Can you get the virus by hating the left as your moronic post claims?

There was no "hoax", no exaggeration. It really is bad. It really can kill you. And no, we're not out to take your constitutional rights. We don't want you getting other people killed.
There was certainly an exaggeration. Remember 2.2 million Americans were supposed to die from this virus. What was that if not an exaggeration? Plus most of the deaths have been in Blue states to angry Blue state leftists. Was it their hatred that did them in as well?

Oooh, Fletch is mad that nobody is praising the Ohio feller as a hero.

He was a dummy. And he caught COVID-19 because he was a dummy.

Go shake people's hands if you think this is all a hoax too.

You think he caught it politically?

Lmao, unless the virus traveled to his front door, and shook his hand, then he caught it by being in proximity to people who also had it. You know, like the tens of thousands of goofies running around like Jesus will save them from viruses.

You know you can't get it by being at home self isolating, right?

"Now, we don't know the circumstances of how Mr. McDaniel contracted the virus, nor do we know if he took foolish and unnecessary risks." Why is this guys death so much more noteworthy than the 20,000 liberals who have died in New York? How many of those people took 'foolish or unnecessary risks?' You guys are dancing on this mans grave to score cheap political points because thats the way you are.

More people on the left have died from this than people on the right. Is that because liberals are stupid? Could be.

He is dead, does it matter? Only thing he did good was become an example of what happens to ignorant people.

That is an incredibility sad story.

Our economy (and our society) is based upon expertise. We are all experts in something and none of us are experts in everything. I expect people to listen to me about things I know; I respect the experts in areas that I know little. That whole concept of each specializing in one area creates trade; which makes free enterprise work. Free enterprise (and our society) does not work so well when we all think we are experts in everything and dismiss the real experts. We are doing way too much dismissing of real experts these days.... wrongly labeling our arrogance as "elites" and "deep state". This is very dangerous, as unfortunately this family now knows.

The people that dismiss the experts in this area (the epidemiologists) and think they know better (or, worse, dismiss it because they think there is a conspiracy) are just wrong. They are not using their brains for its intended purpose. Unfortunately this obstinate and ignorant gentleman is now dead wrong. I ask others to honor is death by re-considering your "thoughts" about this virus. If you don't know, do some research. Find studies from actual doctors, not from news stories from political websites. In fact, get out.... look at some websites of other countries (UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, etc.) Get yourself informed as people are lying to you. Do this for you and your family as if your life depends upon it, as that may very well be the case.

You think he caught it politically?

If you would pay attention and read through a conversation before sticking your nose into it, you would notice that I am not the one voicing an opinion as to how he caught it. Take it up with those who are.

Got a trusted source for that? Please share.

What are they supposed to say? Yeah, this guy played with fire, and got burned?

He did not get it through self-isolation. We know that much.

I think he caught it politically. So it's like he said, "a political ploy". We just gotta figure out how Obama got Trump to kill all the old white uneducated people.
